Lost Reverse Gear

Ok. I just lost reverse gear on my car (1990 gts4, rb25 motor). Had a search couldn't find anything. Reverse out of the garage fine, then couldn't get it in at the mall. Which made stuff interesting. Anyway, did a search in this forum, couldn't find anything. Been told the gbox has an aftermarket gearset in it. Every other gear is fine. (has a heavy duty clutch). Almost like reverse doesn't exist anymore.

Anyone able to provide any advice or info? Would be appreciated.

does it still have 5th ok? goes in nice an easy. sounds possibly like a selector problem

5th gear is fine, as is every other gear, no probs selecting them, reverse does not want to go in at all. Like it wasn't there, it does have a hks short shifter.

I have the same problem but on an auto transmission. Have you sorted this out yet as I have absolutly no idea

we had that problem with our old accord - auto too - wouldnt reverse when its cold, but once warmed up it reverses - we had to get the auto box reconditioned....now its fine. Expect it to be around the $1,500 for a recondition
