we dont control the roads.... each to their own IMO

at the end of the day, I had a fantastic time, and that was simply had by driving thru the Hills with Skylines and Stageas and meeting some top people.

did i make any of the videos? i cant watch them for some reason so ill try another computer sometime.

still thought the cruise was good with a small amount of random cars, and i really dont mine the fd and shaz's 200. i want them both haha

apologies to the silver 33 stuck behind me but I was going slow in the hope that I could keep going on the cruize but after a few tight turns in a row there was rumble in the gut and fortunately I pulled over in time so no skyline interior was harmed in the vomit that followed. it was at this point I decided it was best to give up on the cruize as vomit in the car would make me an unhappy chappy.

lol no worries,

was wondering wtf you were doing haha.

yeah what the hell were the Exa, Pulsar and shitty old Bluebird doing on an SAU cruise? Don't they have their own club, rather than come on a SKYLINE cruise? The FD I can deal with as it is such a sexy car, and Shaz's S14 is a baby Skyline :)

I was stuck behind a DR30 for most of the 1st part of the cruise and boy it pissed me off no end - if you can't go fast up the hills, please let others who can go past :)

Thankyou for the comments about the FD.... that's my baby :)

Cheers,

Sam

PS: It's for sale.... check the SAU For Sale section :D

try getting stuck behind the laser with a sheila driving it using ALL the road with no speed.. :worship:

i thought if your gunna cut the white line which we dont need to do your trying to make a curved rod straight hence higher speed, i think someone needs to teach her to drive (specially in car parks as she hit the white 4door 32 leaving burnside)

lol i hear ya i was around the 2nd car behind that particular driver and im suprised that they survived the day! talk about taking stupid risk's they almost hit a van when they cut a blind corner

If the consequences of something going wrong weren't so serious I'd laugh but I too have to say that I saw that car do MANY stupid things, the first of which was go up the ass of another Skyline driver here. I spoke to the dude that got hit and the owner of the other car said "OMG, I'm sorry, I have no brakes" :worship: Dunno if it's just me but if you have no brakes, why are you on the road?

was that me that you were behind? i was shitting myself everytime she took a corner and then when she almost hit that van or 4wd. i felt sorry for the passangers inside the car so sorry if i was going slow was trying to keep my distance incase she did crash

well I dont wanna write it off just yet, cos I doubt I could replace the car.

flash your lights, if I was slowing you down :O

Car was running abit rough and stalled a few times, so called it off early and took it back home when i spotted the freeway. should get around to having it tuned and the T.P.S replaced :D

yeah that was me and dont be sorry about going slow i think that the pace needed to be slowed with some of the crazy stuff going on up in front

    • Reading your posts Josh, sometimes I feel like I've gone in a time machine back to the 90's when everyone was doe-eyed and figuring things out for the first time.  I've lost track of how many single turbo GTR's I've seen on track that haven't burnt down lol. Everything has been figured out a long time ago. These things are at the point now where its essentially turn-key to go single turbo.
    • Among other things yes. Making sure to either use an oil pressure regulator or the right restrictor size for your oil pump/range of oil viscosities you intend to run, making sure you plumb the lines correctly, turbo should be placed such that it siphons properly even when the water pump isn't turning so you don't boil coolant in the turbo after shutdown, oil return should be low resistance and also preferably picking the one that is most likely to return to the pickup as opposed to some other irrelevant part of the pan. It's far from impossible to figure this out but I have seen people really, really struggle and if that's the case it's easier to just take the path of least resistance. To me, bolt-on twin turbos are a fixed cost whereas single turbo is almost unbounded.
    • Latest round of updates on the car. I purchased and installed a SWS clutch slipper to help with 60ft times and got some second-hand good condition 275/40R17 Hoosier DR2 radials. Test and tune in November showed the tyres were an upgrade over my over 15 year old mickey Thompson's and I got a 1.8 second 60ft and pb et of 11.71 but even then, that run wasn't great due to rain and driver error (the event got called off 10 minutes later fast forward to the weekend just gone 25th of Jan and there was finally a break in the weather to let racing happen. The first run the track was slippery and only managed a 12.1@129 Second run the track was better and got a new pb et and mph: 11.54@131   Lith and I then worked out that I installed the previously mentioned clutch slipper incorrectly and its never been working, and I had just been dumping the clutch the entire time, we also noticed it was on street boost and not race boost. So I lined up for a third run with the car turned up in the first two gears, but the passengers side axle objected to clutch dumps and left the chat which stopped my weekend.   so there will be another attempt in the future once I replace the tyres as they rubbed and are stuffed now. but a low 11 should be on the cards.
    • Ceramic coating and heat shielding, you mean?
    • Turbos don't require pulling the motor apart so that's "easier". I would recommend the Nismo R3 turbos instead if you want to do stock twin turbo. It doesn't make as much power as the 2530s but it's only like ~50 whp off the mark and should have better response (ball bearing CHRA, slightly smaller turbo). A local that went with a Garrett G30 and 6boost manifold recently nearly burned his car to the ground after the hood insulator started melting and and burning so if you go single turbo I recommend doing a lot of research and validation work to make sure you don't do the same.
