C&B off these forums... i got a hevy duty clutch for $300

flywheel machining should not be anymore than $50, although mine didnt need it just needed a sand down

i paid $300 for fitting... not that much of a hard job.. included all fluids and what not too.... by my trusted mechanic...

I got the exedy heavy duty from powerplay for 380 delivered last year

dont know on pricing now but I got shitfit to fit it....was about 300-350 labour?

around 800 all up I think fitted

corrine.if you can change a clutch in an hour you can come and do mine.:D

i can do it myself though it means a bit of time of the road.liek a few days.with class and what not i wil be run off my feet.ive done it before though, on the skyrine and a swift.time is precious coming up to fri night at driftland.

i might do it this weekend im still undecided as to what way to go.the only thing that will fek me is the turn arround on the clutch reco.

dif, did it only take you 1 hour to do it on the ground really?

I've got a clutch to go into mine, just building up the confidence to do it atm.

I've got all the equipo, just need confidence. Hahaha, you know like when you start a job, and it's like hmmm, that's impossible. then you look at it, do a bit more, and next thing you know, it's done.

1 hour! All i can say is :D

It took me and a couple of mates 5 hours to do an R32 GTR clutch (no flywheel removal) on the ground. A GTR is more difficult, but still....

I think it was less then an hour maybe 50 mins or so but it was def sub 1 hour

PS: last guy that did my clutch charged me $140 including bearings. He had never done a skyline box before. Took his time, took a bit over an hour, but it was on a hoist.

what what was the total overalll cost.

where did you get it done at.

did you buy a brand new clutch?what type?cost etc..

45mins to an hour on the ground by myself. I do GTR boxes in the same time same conditions. Occasionally need help getting the GTR box back in but 8/10 its a solo effort.

By the time corinne was driven from her place to mine the job was done.

Have a go its not hard to do if you have patience and be sure to line the clutch up properly.

realisticly its a 1k drive in drive out suply and fit . if its cheaper happy days.

it's looking like i will just install my self at the current quotes i have been getting.this allways ends up happening with me.i look into getting it done through a pro and then i end up doing it myself anyway.

youve got it down pat there mate.prolly nore like a weekend for me.i might even go out and buy a new clutch as well now.just so i can have the car finished on the weekend.it will probably be a rainy one at that so there is no better time for it really is there.

anyone want to learn how to put a clutch in a 33 :worship:

I got an EXTREME CLUTCH set. See http://www.xtremeclutch.com.au/. Clutch + Fly wheel and pressure bearing. It was fitted by one of the members here. I was a touch unsure to do the job but he done in around 2 hours. Great job, can not complain....but you get what u pay for.... The kit costed me around 1100 dollars, labour I can not comment.... THANK YOU BRETT. I am happy to give him a plug here if he wants me too. Now he just started his own business and experience from Porsche really helped. he is a great guy and I am sure he will be discovered by lots of Skyline lovers....

      If the RB20 box in the car is a push clutch, then yes, you will need to deal with the pull clutch on the turbo box. You either buy a pull clutch and don't use the old one, or you do the things needed to convert the turbo box's clutch arrangement over to push. Which is a bit of a f**karound. "Making" a custom tailshaft is the easy part. But you will need to source the front clip yoke - the bit that goes into the output of the gearbox. These are not as easy to find. They are out there, but they don't grow on trees the way that they used to.

      Indicator bulbs are way too bright to use as a "corner marker" (we call them parking lights too). Sure. Go ahead and do it. But realise that you wil need to come up with all your own wiring to do it, as no-one will have a standard howto worked out for Skylines. It's just a matter of abandoning everything that Nissan have done and starting from scratch. You'd probably be better off retrofitting tailght/brakelight globe bases into the front indicator housings and using the taillight circuit for your corner marker and the brake light as the indicator. You'd need to work out how to kill the marker circuit while the indicator is flashing, otherwise it won't flash on-off, just bright-less bright.

      Hi. A little bit of an update. It maybe(hope not) looks like i would need a new tranny(it would be "maybe" a cheaper or better option anyway) So i need some info. I know i need a different propshaft(i can make custom one) LSD is not a problem cuz the engine will be still(for now) N/A RB20. So if i buy RB25DET NEO tranny...is there something else i need? I read something about push/pull type but i do not know if i need to "change" something or i can just plug n play onto my engine a go? Thanks for the advice

      Good morning all, Bit of a random question but figured I’d finally throw it out after wondering for a long while. Before I start, I'm hoping to do this purely out of personal preference. I think it would look better at night, and don't mind at all spending a few hours and dollars to get it done. I've copied this from a non-Skyline specific forum, so I apologize for the explanation of our headlight switch setup that we all know. Here we go: Zero lights (switch off) Parking lights (switch position 1) being a rectangular marker on the outside of the housing, my low beam being the projector in the centre (position 2), and a high beam triggered by my turn signal stalk. Most North American cars I’ve owned of this era have power to the amber corner (turning indicator) light as part of the first switch (parking lights). I’d love to have these amber corners receive power when the headlights and parking lights are on (headlight switch), yet still blink when using the turn signal which is of course a separate switch. Hopefully I’ve explained my question correctly. Is anyone aware of a way in which I might be able to achieve this? Thanks in advance
