R33: (gts-t) Series 1 And 2 Differences

Hey its funny, my series 1.5 has got an airbag but on the compliance plate it says built in Jan/05. I thought the airbag only came in July 95 and after??!!

I'm pretty sure almost all - if not all - R33s came with one driver side airbag. S2 come with passenger and driver airbags.

the 93-94 R33 dont have airbags as far as i know.

"1.5" or 95 models have drivers side...it might be an option, but most ive seen have it.

Yea thats right but i think even in the '95 models only after a certain month they got airbags.

yeah, it was probably still optional anyway. as far as i know, only S2 was standard

Are the stock front bar's of an S1 and S2 interchangeable?

i have heard that the bonnets/front lights will have to be replaced if you want to swap the front bar.

they dont NEED to be replaced but the lights stick out and the bonnet doesnt line up properly...so to do it right you need to change all of it

Where doesn't the bonnet line up properly? sides? / front grill?

not sure as ive never done it myself...some people on here have done it without changing lights/bonnet, and have said it looks fine from a distance but shit close up

Posted earlier in the thread shows a 93 R33 with a pessanger airbag. Rare but was an option.

dont mean to dig up an old thread...

but ive been wondering what the difference is between the 96SII r33 and the 97sII r33 is...

the only difference is that the 97 model come with abs as an option and has no front spoiler, and the 96 has no ABS option and has a front spoiler...all other specs are the same.

besides what ive mentioned, which appears to be wrong anyway, does anyone know the difference between the 96 and 97 R33 GTS-t ???

EDIT: my bad i just re-checked the website...

ABS was standard on 97 and was an option on 96

what about cosmetic differences between 96 and 97 R33?

i cant seem to find any...but im not a skyline owner...yet.

so im basing my opinion on photos only. which isnt easy.

they're the same. both are just series 2 R33's

only visual differences will be if 1 has the optional front lip.

series 1 and series 2 r33 gearboxes have different clutch setup but are the same. series 2 has seatbelt holders that come off the a pillar to keep the seatbelt at easy reach. series 2 console has each warninig light in its own bevelled bubble where series 1 is completely flat and just has lights for each warning item
