(COUPE ONLY, 4AT FR and 5MT FR) GTS type J and X < the later model of a GTS (different standard features slight cosmetic design and more Optional features to choose from) each type, J being (coupes) and type X being (sedans)

(SEDAN AND COUPE, 4AT FR and 5MT FR) GTS-4 (still called a GTS-4 but with different standard features slight cosmetic design and more Optional features to choose from) *TAKE NOTE THIS CAR GAINED 60KG

From August 1989 GTR was introduced

the GTR stayed the same from August 1989-1993 August then switching too r33

NISSAN REMODELED EVERY DESIGN LISTED ABOVE AGAIN IN NOVEMBER 1992 WITH THE USUAL SLIGHT COSMETIC CHANGE AND NEW OPTIONAL FEATURES AND STANDARD FEATURES. ( :P no point in saying what i just said again )

*NOTE all models listed were 1998cc (excluding X * G 1809cc) (GTS25 2498cc) (GTR 2568cc)

Well thats about it for 32's other than the Nur spec and such and bathurst it doe not get classed as Nissan and falls under NISMO make.

Now to answer the above question :( having vvt means its a series 2 engine. If thats factory engine it will be a series 1.5

all those things you stated are optional features for any r33 so its hard to say but the interior you said is series 1 and if the engine is original than its defiantly a series 1.5

:bunny: unless someone took your skyline apart and mixed and matched ....... a lot ;)

P.S a lot of people are getting confused with there series and saying things that are miss-leading

check the link and it gives you a list of optional features of all models from r32-r34

it will tell you straight away what series you have looking on the link

IF ANYONE WANTS ME TO DO R33'S

FOR WHAT I DID ON THE R32'S JUST PM ME AND ILL POST IT ON HERE

just checked the the link given by centrel coast. and looks like the only non - turbos that come with LSD from factory are the E-ECR33 frame ones. i dont know if everyone has that one. Mine says E-ECR33 on the plate inside the bonnet. Which makes it a GTS TYPE S. i dont know if thats a good thing, since am a newbie to Skyline. just got mine a few days ago.

and the non turbo r33 without the LSD is the one with the E-ER33 FRAME.

other differences are:

GTS25 (E-ER33) is 140kw,

Standard features include - Rear spoiler, Rear seat lap sash belt, Side impact protection bars, Power windows, Central door locking, Steering wheel height adjust.

Optional features Limited slip differential, Front fog lamps, Rear window wiper, Driver airbag, Front passenger airbag, Anti-lock braking system, Navigation system, Leather steering wheel, Alloy wheels

GTS25 (E-ECR33) TYPE S is 147kw,

Standard features include - Limited slip differential, Rear spoiler, Rear window wiper, Rear seat lap sash belt, Side impact protection bars, Power windows, Central door locking, Steering wheel height adjust, Leather steering wheel, Alloy wheels.

Optional features Front fog lamps, Front spoiler, Driver airbag, Front passenger airbag, Anti-lock braking system, Navigation system

Forgive mwa for any mistakes coz am a noobie. Lol.

I read the first few pages of this thread and then jumped straight to the last one so if this has been mentioned earlier, then I don't care...

Regarding the ABS being standard or not on the R33 Series II Turbo;

If it's a '96 SII, then ABS was an option whereas it cam standard '97 onwards.

And just another quick fact, the '96 came standard with a rear window wiper whereas the '97 did not....... :D

Yo, i just made a thread about series 1 and series 2 fronts before i saw this thread, so if anyone can enlighten me:

"Hey guys, banged up my series 1.5 r33 gtst, have to replace the front bar, bonnet and lights of a series 1 front.

If i change all these parts to a series 2 front, do i have to change anything else, like the side quarter panels etc?

Thanks!"

  • 1 month later...

Another thing Ive noticed is the rear number plate holder size is smaller on the series 1, some i have seen have had fold the plate at each end to fit in the space, where mine has more than enough room.

Yes but you also need to change the grill and front 1/4 panels.

Lol I just bought my s1 - its my first car....

Please don't tease - Need some up side to it

Whats wrong with a S1, personally i dont like the front of the S2, the indicators look like they were an after thought stuck in the front bar, also dont like the interior material, looks like its out of an excel, and also the color coded panel between in indicators look better clear imo, keeps the lines flowing.

i think it depends...

If you got the s1 non m spec version (93-94) its pretty ugly...

However if you get the m spec version or series "1.5" with the updated front bar then it looks pretty nice.

However personal opinion really.

The only difference between the m-spec non mspec and s1.5 is that the mspec has wider openings in the sides of the front bar, the others look a bit plain but i wouldnt say they are ugly.

But thats just my personal opinion.

anybody know if the interior (ie. front and rear seats, door trim sections, A and B pillar moulds) are interchangable between S1 and S2 gtst?

I assume the pillar mods are the same, the rest is a common bolt in upgrade for S1 owners.

    • Howdy friends, So another weird one today, I was looking into replacing some broken clips holding the front grille for the R32 GTR (part number 01553-03831), and noticed the brackets which are supposed to hold the grille in place were also missing 😑. I do recall seeing this issue many years ago, but didn't fix it at the time. A quick look on eBay and I was able to find the genuine brackets, along with all the screws which suited the headlights (part numbers 26042-08U05,26092-08U05). Happy days!....  Once they arrived however there was an extra nut in the packaging which implied that there should also be a bolt or a stud, and sure enough, after a bit of searching I found this thread from 2013, and @Ants clearly shows a stud should be present. Reading around a bit more, it's possible the headlights on my car are the "povo pack" headlights as mentioned by @funkymonkey in this thread way back in 2008. This could explain why the studs are missing on my set of headlights. Looking at the headlight diagram I wasn't able to see a suitable part number for the stud itself. The headlight did indeed have a recess that looked like it would accept a stud, but interestingly no thread or anything obvious how the stud would be affixed to the headlight, I suspect it may have been glued in, press fit, or melted into the plastic at the factory. Another member may be able to clarify if they happen to have a genuine set of N1 headlamps. The only thing we have to work with within the recess is a keyway which likely is there to prevent the stud from rotating within the recess. In any case, back to 3D printing, I put together a model which acts like a pug with a friction fit inside this recess, making use of the keyway so it doesn't rotate while tightening a bolt. Printing in TPU will allow it to slightly swell making a nice snug fit without cracking the part. I've designed the adaptor it to accept an 20 mm M6 bolt (stainless with a cap head in my case), as opposed to the standard M5 stud and I made use of the standard galvanised split washer that came with the genuine brackets from Nissan. Once the bolt and screws were all in place, giving the bracket a gentle shake gave the classic "shaking the car" feeling, very solid, which gives me confidence this is going to be able to hold on much better than the janky solution which seems to have been here for the past decade or so. Overall I'm really pleased with how this turned out and maybe there are more people out there running these headlights without a centre stud at all! • Hey everyone, This is my first post apart of the introduction. I tried searching a bit on the forum but couldn't really get a straight answer. I got the car to my mechanic as I felt it being weak. It seems that it was missing on two cylinders due to the injectors. I had all my injectors clean and the car runs much better. The mechanic also confirmed my suspicions that the cat is clogged and needs to be tackled asap. The cat rattles a bit and the hot exhaust warning frequently lights up when driving after getting the injectors clean. In my introduction I was asked about what modification I might be interested in and mentioned a cat delete. From what I was told, this is not really beneficial on the RB20DE and there are more cons than pros.  Could perhaps anyone give some suggestions on what the best course of action would be since the current cat is toast and needs to be removed/replaced anyway? I can also sometimes smell a strong smell of fuel, but I'm not sure if this is related.
    • Hope the cans went down well at least
    • 255 can't go wrong with the price.
    • When I was replacing my pump due to being stranded in the wrong state, I went with the Deatschwerks 320lph kit. It is a direct plug in to the stock wires, harness, everything. It comes with a plug... but you can plug the OEM plug directly into this thing. https://justjap.com/products/deatschwerks-dw300-fuel-pump-nissan-s13-silvia-r32-r33-r34-skyline-c34-stagea?currency=AUD Downside: Won't actually flow that much on boost if you want to push it on E85, but it's comparable to the 040/255 etc. Little more actually.
