Hey all - I bought my Volk Winnings 18s (exactly the same as these in the pic) at a bargain price and have just found out why...

I put the 10" rears on (which are a bit wide for my gtst anyway) and have found that one of them has a little buckle...yeah yeah, "you get what you pay for etc etc"

Now keep in mind, I actually want black wheels (preferably nismo's with a chrome lip) for my car eventually...

So anyway, it's gonna cost me $89+gst to get the buckle done at Depulu or $139+gst to get it fully reconditioned. Now a couple of the other wheels could do with some reconditioning too. So my options are:

a) just get the buckle fixed and worry about reconditioning them later if i feel like it

b) get this one reconditioned as it's better than paying to fix the buckle and then paying for recondition later

OR

c) get the wheels reconditioned but make them BLACK instead of the original silver!?!

Now the issues i see with c) is the blue anodising on the inside of the rim - how difficult is that going to make it for the guys to apply black just to the spokes and how do you think black would look on these wheels. I actually think it would look pretty cool and unique with the blue and chrome bits inside the rim. Also, if i was going to go black, I'd probably prefer powdercoat but then again these wheels aren't even my ideal rims, so there's also option:

d) get the buckle fixed just because it's gay selling someone a buckled rim (!!) and sell the wheels and wait for my ideal rims (nismo gt1s or gt2s) and just get them powdercoated in black?

I know the best people to ask about the issues with the blue inside the rim when repainting are actually Depulu, but just wanting to get some esteemed opinions here anyway

Cheers
