SO THE MAIN PROBLEM HERE IS FINDING A CAR THAT HASNT BEEN THRASHED HOW THE HELL DO I MANAGE THAT???

having it rebuilt gives you peice of mind, but then you also got to take into account out who built it and with what?. obviously if its from a reputable place then should be good assuming the owner has taken care of it since it was rebuilt.

having the stock engine isnt a problem imo, as long as it was well maintained by the owner.

buying one here on the forum is usually a better place to find one since most ppl here are enthusiasts and not someone who just bought it for a thrash. theres quite a few really good buys on sale now!

good luck with it :domokun:

for starters, wtf with the caps man, its only a car.

anyways, i have seen the best of both situations.

If you want to buy a rebuit one, find out who did it, what warranty they offer. quite simply would you trust your cash in a back yard mechanic with no proper tuning equipment or would you put your cash with a place that has all the equipment at their disposal. Thats not to say every pro-racing house makes 100% bullet proof engines, but you get my drift on quality.

If you want to buy a stock standard gtr, then yes, go with Hanyou above and look for someone who has taken care of the car and given it care. This is simple. Do a thorough inspection, either by a quality mechanic or yourself, for the age of the car, does it feel like it? its not that hard to spot a problem, just dont let your emotions get in your way.

each one has their pros and cons, you will just have to mitigate where you want to be.

FYI

I own a stock gtr. my friend owns a 2.7L rebuilt gtr. both our cars runs great, and we drive to work and back in them.

Good luck happy hunting
