For everyone thats saying I cant have a turbo, I can cause I've already got my P's and the new law hasn't come out yet. So I'm still under the power to weight ratio law, and the new law only affects people that are getting their P's after July 1st.

But thanks again for your thoughts, however I don't really want to save anything. :laughing-smiley-014:

I want to spend it ALL! and get something decent.

Well, for a start, don't spend it all.

No matter what car you buy, you'll need to spend money on it. Also, go full comp insurance.

A quick look through the j-spec and they have some FC RX-7's, R32's and a soarer that look to suit, but I don't know the power to weight law if these are eligible.

If you're after a fun car, go the R32, but you have already killed one, so that may not be the best of ideas.

Personally, I like the FC's for the price. Definitely different, but has potential. May even get lucky and find a convertible one.

The soarer is a great sleeper. With conservative paint and rims, can pass as a toorak kiddie mover, but with some tarting up they can look damn good.

Like I said, I do not know which are eligible, but check out the import websites and compare to local cars.

An MR2 is a hard car to get use to, mid engine cars are VERY different to FR cars...

Honestly I think your best bet would have been with a Gts-t R32, then I would start looking at a silvia prolly S13 with an SR20DET in it. I was looking into an FC for a while but they are just to fragile and people want way to much for them

Get a Gts-t man they are the best bang for your buck if you can find the right one

wrx suck dick imo wrx drivers have this wierd attitude that they own the road but i was beating them in my non turbo supra

and stay away from 33's there boats imo

but if i was going to chose find a couple more grand and buy a non turbo supra they have as much power as all the little girls cars u mentioned and sound so much better there is also less of them so u wont feel like other tom dick and harry in a skyline

1. you have no taste

2. your kidding yourself if you think a na supra is as quick as you seem to think they are

Don't buy a Toyota, they are shit.

Wow, what an inspirational contribution. You are clearly all knowing when it comes to cars... I mean what would the worlds biggest car manufacturer know about building cars?... you should start up a car company of your own - with your knowledge the possibilities are endless!

noobs says the 12year old... choice...

your volvo Vs an rb20 32... my money on the 32 for anything over 20m and 40kph. rs4 if you own one different story but unlike 13k eh.

lol

i had an r32 gtst. loved it to bits. and yes, the 32 would beat it, the r32 was about 1200kgs, the stag is probably 1700-1800.

and 12 year old? lol

    • Hi everyone, I’m Dave from Canberra. Here's a few pics of my 1992 R32 GTST coupe which I imported back in 2006. Only mods so far are HKS Hi-power cat back exhaust, K&N filter, ATC Volanti steering wheel, Pioneer stereo, amp and sub. This was my daily driver up until 2015 and sadly hasn’t been driven at all in the last 5 years due to marriage, work, and kids taking up most of my time and spare cash.As such its in need of a bit of TLC and one of my goals for this year is to get it back to running condition and maybe look into club/historic rego. I’ve joined SAU so I can ask a few questions along the way (although I promise to google Current Problem +SAU beforehand!)
    • From talking to the mx5 guys the NC doesn't actually need bonnet vents like the earlier NA and NB models, due to a better designed cooling system and undertray design There's plenty of them used as street cars and weekend track toys running anywhere from around 170 to 250kw with stock non vented bonnets, I initially was going to get some bonnet vents, but, as they are not actually required, I'll put vents on hold for a while and just monitor temps, though I do need to get something to actually monitor engine oil temps though, coolant temp can be pulled from the OBD2, but the oil gauge in the car is not actual oil temp, it is only a calculation based off coolant temp and RPM ☹️ They do recommend upgrading the radiator, which I have already done with a triple pass, and the only other thing they recommend for a street car is heat management, like I talked about above to protect bits in the engine bay from radiant heat, and to either replace the nearly 20 year old plastic coolant expansion tank, which I have done, or get a aftermarket alloy jobbie for some bling They did also say that if I wanted to track the car on occasion a oil cooler and sump baffle would be required, and as I already have had a sump baffle installed when the engine was out......... I'm going to get a oil cooler with a thermostat....... just in case I do eventually track the car, but probably not, but still maybe...🤪
