There is a warning that flashes on my dash right beside the handbrake light and it looks like a "chevrolet" badge with wavey lines or steam coming off it. I have just recently had a replacement auto fitted and a bit of hyd fluid was lost from the back of the auto from a resevoir. It is still within the Min-Max range, not sure if this has anything to do with it. Automatic shop (very reputable) did not know what it is. It looks like an oil pump for the variable 4WD system, does this have anything to do with it. Has a 3 core radiator fitted, is this the overheat light, shouldn't be hot. Any ideas what this is.

YEP, definetly number 12. I had to cut the temp sensor wire that comes out from under the mid floor to the second cat convertor. But that was a while ago. Should of seen the light since then. Thanks heaps for that info. Other than speaking Japlish, does anybody know what to do now.

I am gonna go out on a limb and suggest its the attessa pressure cylinder that you are talking about? The pump for it is actually located at the back above the rear diff. The fill pot for it is inside the cargo area on the drivers side behnd one of the natty little panels in the side. As with all auto fluids, this should be checked with the car warm, running and parked on level ground. Do a search for the actual fluid required or have a look in the DIY sticky at the top of the forum.

so maybe the O2 sensor is letting too much fuel in and causing it. It seems to be "heavier" again than it normally is. Like lucky to touch 300kms around town now just city driving. Used to get 350 - 400kms. So is this also measured at the o2 sensor aswell and whats the best replacement.

The transfer case pump uses Auto trans fluid and is filled in the resoviour in the boot, the transfer case itself also uses ATF and is filled through a filler on the rear of the gearbox.

I think the engine check light can come on in circumstances other than just cat too hot right? If you've cut the wire it can't be cat temps....better check that out maybe search outside stagea section for it.

Don't mean to hijack thread, but what warning is no.15? Mine came on everytime I got up to 160ish and released back to 100ish. Would stay on for anywhere between 5-15secs and then turn off. Also came on while stationary once.

You need to get a consult interface onto that to check the error codes... Most mechanics should have one and the stagea should be listed.

that "chevy" looking light is surpose to be a pic of a cat conveter over heating. on my friends cars a s13, a cefiro and a cellcier all had this light come on, they all shared a comon problem. Bloocked Catilitic Conveter's. you can take yours out and either replace it. Smash the middle out with a screwdriver (illigal. 5 thousand dollar fine, but only if you get caught) or you can tap it on the ground to lossen the dirt and blow it out with compressed air. and get somone to hook that wire back on could be shorting out and making the light come on

The wire you are talking about seems to be a capillary/mechanical setup, so there is no rejoining it seeing as though it has been cut at the "cat". The light seems to have stopped again, I think I need to replace the O2 sensor anyhoos. Not getting a reading off the wires at the plug, except for the 12 v power wire. If it is the cat that is blocked, seems funny that the wire would give me a reading, unless it was the 02 sensor signalling the dash light.

    • I would not be surprised if you are the only person on earth that has the interest/desire to do that lol.  The Haltech base map is a really good starting point, the car will fire easily and drive very well, even on mild boost levels. To me, following your advice sounds like some sort of ancient Chinese water torcher lol (this is not an insult Josh, never change <3)
    • Those car show concepts from the 2000's and 2010's like the Floria and IDx were brilliant and should've gone ahead, at least one of them. But neither Honda nor Nissan are thinking about affordable performance any more, which is truly sad.  Even if Toyota's liquid hydrogen ICE development reaches the point where it's commercially viable and the infrastructure to support it, Honda/Nissan would have to wait until Toyota allow fee access to their patents to offer it with any smaller performance models they released to take advantage of it.
    • A sporty manual RWD coupe with a IL4 Honda engine would only be a good thing I assume we won't see anything released for a few years though, unless informal talks and designs have been going on for a few years,  and due to the current, and future, emmisions and safety requirements, I assume anything "sporty" they would do would be at least some hybrid thingie And hopefully anything they are thinking of has nice lines, without lots of plastic and fake bits hanging off it like that horrendous FK8 that looked like it was designed by a 13 year old The other issue of course in the current market is cost, currently the type R is around $70k, a twin is around $50k Meh, I'm old and grumpy and would rather buy a older model car and waste my coin on that than buying anything currently available new
