How Do I Put In A New Exh Manifold To Turbo Gasket?

Hey guys, i just bought a exh manifold to turbo gasket, as mine is F%#ked...... i used maniseal around the opening where the gasket was craked, but that didnt last very long:(

Anyway, what is there to replacing the gasket?....i know theres 4 bolts that need to be undone, but just from looking....it seems something else will need to be aswell, to separate the turbo from the exhaust manifold, so i can clean the faces, and then replace whats left of the current gasket, which i dont think would be much at all hahaha.

Anyway, ive been experience alot of missing, and boost spikes recenetly, would this be the cause?,.....also my car sounds like a V8 with the noise!!!

You gotta take the turbo out.

So its dump off, front hoses off etc etc. You might need to remove the oil return as you might not get enough leaverage with it connected

Then just unbolt the turbo, its a T3 flange so its a 4 bolt setup and thats it really.

I did it plenty of times with my aftermarket setup, but the flange/priciples are the same.

I replaced that gasket without removing any of the lines. Needed a lever though.

I did this on my 33 a few weeks ago. I removed the coolant and oil lines as teh last thing you want to do is bend & pinch them. I left the oil drain connected, but loosened the bolts off. Apart from that, I didnt remove the dump pipe and had enough twist in the exhaust hangers

done it guys, no need to remove the lines, but had to remove everything else....there was enought leeway to move the turbo off the thread w/o having to remove the lines.....i used a screwdriver to pull the turbo out, used some maniseal and applied the new gasket....the old one was f%kt.

Car is running much better now, no missing, but getting surge still....will lower the boost.
