The factory platinum spark plugs in the V35 are:

XXXX(fill in later)

Recommended replacements are:

NGK Iridium IX LFR5AIX-11(Same heat range as stock)

This is an excellent DIY for changing spark plugs:

The maintenance schedule says you should change the platinum factory ones once every 105,000 miles, but oh well, I decided to change mine soon after I got the car :action-smiley-069:

The guide is spot on, just be very careful with the bolts to the coil packs. I got over excited and snapped a bolt(they are very weak especially when warm). Was a PITA to get out. If I was to do it again, I'd replace all the bolts with good ones, so keep this in mind.

You can get cheap Iridium and Platinum spark plugs from this guy, I have no affiliation with him(I found him through Ebay) I'm just a happy customer:-

One of his ebay listings.

Total cost including postage was $79.60 for 6 X LFR5AIX-11(Iridiums). Arrived at my door the following day after payment.

Cheers.

Yeah with the r33 i used to change them every 8000 or so km's. With this one I changed them when the clock said 17000km. I hopefully won't be changing them again for a very long time. I'm glad I did though as the plugs were pretty dirty and the car was definitely smoother afterwards. I've still got them so I'll try and get a pic up of how dirty they were.

It would be good if a DIY and pics can be added. I want to change mine and hearing 2 members say it is 'a pain' to replace gives me the jitters.

Also, I've never sheered a bolt off b4, hence, this would be my worst nightmare if it were to happen.

Note: I've gone into the Performance Lub website and 6 x NGKs plus post is $97 delivered.

Maybe I'll just linger around a bit until I gather more info on the DIY spark plug change b4 I decide to buy...

Just checked yep it was closer to $97 for the set a few months back.

It's not really difficult to do if you have the right tools, just takes a bit of time and needs patience. First time took me about 3.5 hrs and second time 2.5 hours and that was with cleaning the parts. Just find a nice sunny Saturday and you'll be fine.

You saw the thread linked to above right from G35 Driver?

Spark Plug DIY It's quite detailed.

I just ordered a set of the NGK Iridium LFR6AIX-11 (not LFR5AIX-11) from the US for $85 delivered...now just need to wait for it to arrive...

The passenger side 'seems' easy to replace, but the driver side is a bum...that G35 link is awesome!!! Thanks SKiZO...
