What would my next step be? I am not sure whether to start modding the engine(fuel pump, oil can etc) or turbo I know i need a ECU, which i am getting next week. but should i install that after or before turbz and engine work?

i reckon you should start putting in the supporting mods for the turbo before you actually install the turbo. It all depends on what kind of turbo you're getting. Injectors might be needed as well. I would do my injectors, fuel pump install the ECU then turbo goes in and after, tuning of the ECU.

after you do ecu the next step would be fuel pump. it won't gain you any power, but it is a good preventative measure against it leaning out. then go turbo, and possiby injectors, depending on how big you go with the turbo, and how the stock injectors handle the turbo upgrade.

Mate...Just for safety i'd get a new fuel pump first...i blew an engine because my fuel pump was crook and i didn't know it...car ran fine and drove really well...but the afrs were lean due to the pump...a pump is a support mod and should always be changed when unsure....
