hi, i tried searching but didnt get exaclty what i wanted.

Anways, i need to take my r33 to a suspension workshop to have it looked at. My suspension is so damn stiff and squeeky and is such a bad ride. Ive got ohlins shocks at the back and i think standards at the front. I think all springs are standard, though im not too sure. Does anybody kno any good places in sydney, preferrably western sydney where i can get the suspension looked at. I want them to look at all my bushes; castor, camber, toe, springs, shocks for leaks. you get the point.

ive heard mixed opinions with pedders but has anyone got good experience with any in sydney without me getting ripped off. such as blaktown or penrith I just want an inspection first, then i can go from there. Maybe there $14 check may be the way to go, but im just worried they might list items that are not necessary. Sydney kid has recommned heasmans , excellor, st.george, east coast and adrian moore suspesnions. Has anybody had expereinces with them?

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers

Anton

Heasmans are good if you tell them exactly what you want :bunny:

Well I don't see any problem starting with pedders, their checks are cheap and pretty thorough. Just if you decide to go with them to fix things have a real good look over the list first and consider other sources, eg bushes etc.

The fact is that most suspension partts are pretty worn after 100,000klm so a lot might need replacing - its a good idea to have it checked out so you know.

BTW if it feels really stiff it won't be stock suspension. The ohlins are probably pretty good shocks (at least when they were new) and it would be strange to put them in with standard springs and standard rear end. Maybe measure up your front and rear spring sizes and post in Gary's thread to find out what rate they are?

Worn bushes, old shocks and worn rod ends will cause a loose feeling, unpredictability and clunks but not a firmer ride.

ok had a better look with jack today, it appears ive got coilovers all round..back ones look fine, front are leaking bad..oil is also heavily noticable on the bushes...ill fix that up but im thinking, its worthless getting the shocks repaired but i dont have much money to waste atm..im not going to be using this car for track, so do you think i can jus source some standard strut tops and put springs on for the front..

muahahha I hope you don't mean me I am drunken not knowledgeable.

moonans take them to heasman's at rockdale they are the ohilns dealers, they can test them and tell you what is wrong, what they cost to fix and what they are worth
