Question on RICE

Hey guys been lurking here for a while reading up on the posts. Seems as though you have a good thing going on here.

Just a bit of a question on under car Neons.( No i dont want to get them)

A guy that i work with has a little shitta Masda 626. Well when he was leaving work yesterday I saw a green neon hanging out of the front. So I asked him if he could get booked for that.

He told me that they can only book him if they can see the actual neon tube itself. He reckons that if they are out of sight and you can only see the glow they cant book you? Some sort of technicality.

Are there any cops on the board that would know. Anyone had any experience with this?

You are not allowed to drive with them on

I beg to differ, over here in WA you are permitted to have them installed & on as long as you cannot see the tube

I guess the best way to get a definitive answer would be to go to the RTA and ask?

well i thought u could have them on ur car .. just not have them turned on ..

In QLD you can have them fitted but you can't turn them on whilst driving or even parked on the side of the road.
