Hey there my ceramic turbo blew in my R32 at heathcote and needs to be replaced. I am unsure what to do at this stage your thoughts and suggestions?

Looking at buying a second hand RB20DET turbo and have that replaced by a mechanic. I would like to upgrade to something bigger and more powerful but I am under a budget and labour expenses is a problem

How much would a workshop charge to swap a turbo?

The car is drivable however drove it 2 hours home from heathcote sluggish but drivable

Thank you,

Thank you,

There is a stock turbo in the for sale section..

Its in QLD all he has to do is stickit in a box and you will have it the next day.

Its out of a 33 so Rb25 he has 350 on it offer him 300 or 350 if he sends it registed post

He says its in good condition with no play.. give him a buzz STOCK TURBO

Agreed rb25 turbo.

But be warned, these also have a ceramic turbine so can fail just like your current run did.

If you are on a budget, then i assume you don't have the cash for fuel pump, injectors, ecu, tunning, etc. If this is the case, just get a standard rb25 (and keep boost at 11psi) or buy another rb20 turbo. The rb25 turbo will be laggier than the stock turbo.

I am so embarrassed right now, serves me right though for running high boost

No need to be embarrassed buddy: You blew a turbo, that is prone to failure, i blew a motor, that is regarded as being very tuff, yet i am not concerned .

Shit happens, just need to fix it.
