Brake Pad Part No....need Help Guys

I just rang our local new zealand repco store, and they provided me with some brake pad part no(he said they were ferodo ones), im wanting some good ones for the street....and heres the options he gave me for my series 1 gtst.

Front

DB1170 - in GP/XL's/FF

Rear

DB1220 - in GP/XL/FF

i asked what the difference between the gp-xl-ff were, and he said its just pretty much normal brakes, medium perf, and track perfomance ones....

hopefully you guys know which is which?.....please help, i need some good front/rear pads for the street, and need to know which part no to go for.

Also, whats the best way to bed in brakes?, and what fluid is best to get at the same time?

For the street any dot 5 brake fluid should cover any needs you have and i would guess that is available in the shakey islands. And there are lots of traders on this site who will be able to help you source a set of performance pads, try Just Jap they are web based and can ship to you.

The ff pads are great for street and occasional track days (good value). Motul RBF for fluid is cheap and good quality.

The GP's and XL's are no good for track days.

thanks, whats the best for me then, wanting to use for no track work, and strrictly street.

also how long does each last, and i heard some pads are really stressful on the rotors?

the GPs are very very dusty and fade quickly, xls should be ok for street

but ff's would be the best for street?as i can get them for a really good price
