well i have an idea its a bit out side the box but hear goes depending on how tight it is your could get a flat screw driver that is small enough to fit between the allow hole and heat the end of the screw driver up red hot and melt a new slot into the plastic scew let it cool off and then adjust it if that makes sence. dnt push to hard when screw driver is red hot dont wana push right threw it lol. hope that makes sence and works

I'd take it out, check the thread size and then make a new one up out of say brass or alloy [although I'm not in favour of alloy on alloy, so maybe get it anodised as well].

What does the back end of it look like? The bit thats still in the hole, is it a needle, meter etc etc. If its nothing special you could maybe just buy an allen bolt with the correct thread on it and use it to make adjustments [but I'm betting its got a precision end on it and you won't be able to do this].
