Hey all. Im wondering if anyone knows of a nice set of 6-6.5 inch speakers which provide a decent amount of bass which i can use as rear speaker on my R33?? Im not after subs so just wondering if there are any on the market that provide nice bass like 6 x 9's?? If not i'll have to look at 6 x 9's with a custom parcel shelf.

cheers.

thats why you buy 6x9s so you can have the punch without the sub...

i would look more into 6x9s if you dont want a sub...

subs are getting pretty cheap nowadays, i could lend you a shitty one :D most of my friends have one or two of my old subs in their car

Since the R33 parcel shelf has vents cut in it for the boot area, you will never get amazing bass out of speakers on the parcel shelf. You can make your own shelf, but it would be easier to just get a sub (I have contemplated building a new parcel shelf and putting an 8" sub or two in it, haha)

are there rainbow speakers any good?? Yeah Ive had subs in the past and yeah dont want to use them. Id rather just have a speaker set up capable is delivering reasonable bass. i understand i'll never get the same bass as a sub but i can cope.

Where do you get these Rainbow speakers im having a lil trouble finding people who stock em?? im thinking of getting the pioneer TS-C160R splits for the front would this be a better choice than the rainbows for the front stage??

How do the KX165's sound compared to the SLC265Kicks? I've got my 6.5" Rainbows installed, with sound-deadening, but havent fired them up yet!

see reply from APS.

or send me a message. they are a night and day difference between the pioneer. rainbow will make a BIG difference to your front stage. suggest the SLX265 Deluxe as a starting point for the front doors. and KX165 for the rear. add an amplifer and you are set
