just got back from a wet track day and found a bit of water swimming around the space saver.

found that the water is coming in from the plastic guard for the rear windscreen motor. i'm guessing a rubber seal of sorts needs to be changed, any ideas for a part number or alternative remedies?

cheers

eug

Are you sure its the seal, or is it the water sprayer not spraying on the window when you use it but inside the boot. I know someone who had this happen to them, the rubber hose which connects to the jet had fallen off and they were continually flooding their boot.

Hey Eug,

I have a r32 and i had some water in around my space saver and i was under the impression it was come from the rear windscreen seal and after having it replaced with a generic seal adn a full tint water still appeared there.... I finally removed the rear parcel shelf to find that a plastic connector (L connector) had partially snaped and caused the leak... connectors were 1.50ish from super cheap and and as a resilt of this leak the bolt which held up my fuel tank provide a passage for water to slowly leak through out of the boot and hence rUSTed the un painted area of my boot.... now i need a welder! check it out it takes for few mins and could save a bit of money...

anyways hope this helps out!

heya - i've had the parcel shelf out many times and am still not quite sure about your L connector (where abouts is it? left? right? middle?)

i've found water dripping down my wiper motor, so i'm quite positive it's coming from there...

will try to check out what you're on about though - certainly no harm in checking.
