You have to run an external pick up.

I've attached a couple of pics from another setup I've seen.

I'm not sure if using a banjo is a wise idea but it did appear to work with no issues; I would prefer a speedflow type connection.

Hi Felix, here are some more pics of mine. Notice that there is a -12 fitting welded to the side of the N1 Pump and pointing in the direction of the A/C Bracket. This then goes to the fitting you see on the side of the sump. The connects up to the pick up inside. I've also put in a pic of the fitting at the back of the head that is the oil return to the sump and a pic of the internals of the sump showing the trap-door arrangement in case any of that helps..

like the others said, u need to run an external oil pickup, exactly as r32 tt has in the pics.

On a side note, did u get that adapter plate from a guy off here? If so good luck in getting it to fit, i got one and decided to throw it in the bin and make one myself :P Plus i can get them remade aswell :D

P.S sweet lookin sump matt :D i decided to go for a dry sump setup :P

Guys where did you get your adapters from? I've seen the ones Pro Engines are making and they don't look like that. There was someone else making plates and I understand they had a few issues.

Hi Mark, thats not one of mine. Mine uses either a bolt on internal pickup or a blockoff plate for the pickup hole if you're using an external pickup. The bolts fit properly, all the drilling, countersinking and tapping is done in a CNC mill, as well as the silicone groove. Pick below to show the difference.

Cheers,

Greg.

I know mate, my point was that I've seen yours and they're bloody good.

yes, where did you guys get these poor fitting adapters from. I'm sure many of us could benefit from your hard bought wisdom!

Greg, that looks nice. >_<

There definitely appears to be some fitment issues with these adapter plates. My mechanic had the same alignment issues with many of the pre-drilled holes. Additionally there was significant grinding required of the block to leave enough room to put in some of the connecting bolts for the sump. Mine leaked like a sieve when we got it running.

On another note my oil pick was cut and refabricated to stay internal.

hi guys, i have purchased the pro engine kit for mine. will be building it ip in the next few weeks will post a thread, but as for now it looks a superb bit of kit with internal pick up too. ideal for me as i like my air-con..bernie uk..

to add to my reply.

the bolt holes on the sump adapter is not stright, and doesn't light up the the holes on the sump.

gary said every RB motor is differen't but mine is clearly showing that gary's machinest just have bad eye sight and can't see stright.

if u guys remember that RB30 i had him build and we waiting a year and half for the block.

well now it has to be taken apart again and re machine it.

-piston walls are really scratched from them forcing the piston in.

-the holes fo the head bolt was drilled and tapped for bigger head studs, but he didn't drill it stright so the head and the head gasket won't go in. it's clear that 5 of them needs to be re drilled.

-improperly packing made the piston top all scratched up, from shipping.

-sump adapter needs to be re made as the plate it self isn't even flat. and the holes were off.

-block was cracked at the stock oil pick up. part of the casting.

this is a big pos

sorry i went off topic

    • Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.  I have a 2008 Japanese import V36 coupe with nav but without Bose. I bought one of those AliExpress android screens, which for the most part works really well.  The only thing that doesn't work is the air con controls (well sort of) and the factory reverse camera.  The AC can be controlled fine but it doesn't report the change in temp and mode to the screen, and the volume knob/other audio controls from the panel don't register on the learning app.  I am pretty certain that the problem is the difference in the head unit between base model (Nav but no Bose) 2007-2009 coupes and anything after 2009.  Mine is the one with the blue connector all the way to the right as seen in this forum post:  The reason I think this is there is one wire left over that doesn't fit anywhere on this head unit, or in the factory screen which also uses different connectors to more recent versions.  I've seen the upgrade from OWC, and have sent the guy a message on eBay but no response yet.  I also don't particularly need the whole kit, just *maybe* an adapter for this one cable.  Did anyone else here have the same problem, or have any insight about what I can do to get this working?  I have been in contact with the seller but all they seem to be able to do is ask for more pictures and videos. Minor edit to add:  I have been researching and found a screen on Aliexpress that actually specifies my head unit in the listing, so these things do exist.  I will contact the seller to see if the wiring adapters are interchangeable with other screens.   Thanks in advance!
