Just wondering if the Apexi PFC for the R34 GTT is still available...

Tried searching on the forums and found out it's been discontinued...DAMN!

Also, are these a full replacement ecu or a piggyback?

Can this control boost or will i need a boost controller like the AVCR to controll it?

And what is the point of a hand controller?

I'm not a tech head when it comes to cars so i don't know what i would be doing with the controller.

I'm tossing between the AVCR or the Blitz SBC id III

Any issues with these controllers?

Hoping i can make it a 3 port solenoid thingy... <-- if that makes sense

Also, my car doesn't have the RB25DET Neo Rocker cover for the engine.

How much will it cost for me to find and install one?

With my old car (WRX) we had issues with the AFM when we had an oil based pod filter installed on our cars.

It killed the AFM. Any such issues with the R34? And i can't seem to find any info on which POD gives the best results or the like. Maybe my search isn't that great. And are there any Cold Air intake options for the car or is there no point?

Some people seem to still be running their stock airbox/filter.

Please advise - i know that there are going to be differing opinions. But i am a noob and i would like to know.

And how good is the stock BOV? how much boost can it handle?

AND LASTLY, is Earls a recognised brand? Whats the country of manufacture? I think i've heard of it but not so sure. Because i have an earls oil cooler but i dunno if it is a relocation kit as well. Trying to find info...It's also painted blue.

Thanks guys,

Hope to meet up soon

Pretty sure PFCs are still available for the ER34.

I have had both the AVC-R and the Blitz ID3.

The Blitz ID3 is better by a country mile ! I hated the AVC-R. Besides dual solenoids gotta be better than single solenoid !! :(

For boost controllers the new HKS EVC is up there as well, im considering changing to it to try it out later on.

Stock bov is good as long as you keep the stock piping. No need to change.

NEO cover aint expensive and it is only a matter of 4 bolts to "install" I THINK I have mine lying around somewhere if I can find it and the bolts its yours.

Earls are a pretty reputable brand, im pretty sure most workshops use them for their braided lines and connectors, valves etc.

So which Boost controllers have 3 solenoids? Or can i just buy a boost controller and buy the solenoid seperately?

And i already have a am radiator, GReddy FMIC...so i guess i may need a new BOV if i up the boost...

And is your cover in good nick? How much you chasing for the bolts and cover?

Even if you have a greddy fmic as long as you have kept the stock cross over pipe that the stock bov is attached to, there is no real need to change it.

I went through that phase, I had a GFB and a Type RS in the end I changed it to back to the stock one.

I currently have a Type R because I went for a high mount turbo and could not keep the standard piping or the bov.

I kind of mucked around with the cover and I painted it myself, haha yeah I got bored. The condition aint too bad, but like I said its yours if I can find it, meaning you can have it. Im not about to haggle or chase after someone for $20 or so.

PM me if your interested. When I go back to my parents house next week Ill have a look for it and get back to you.

shonen - wot front bar is that on ur 34?

As for the NEO cover - it may have been removed due to the FMIC piping on the top if ur running a FMIC. If not and u r after the cover, i have a S2 R34 one sitting on my shelf. Pm me if ur keen.

Its a C West front bar.

Dont have it anymore though....

Ahh...didn't know that...

What's a S2 cover? Series 2?

Does it look any different?

Yes Series 2 R34. They have some minor differences to the S1, has more torque i believe, tacho n speedo n gauges is silver, NEO cover is completely silver no red writing, looks better IMO but mine's off anyway.

    • So recently at the track had experienced a loss of throttle after a period of WOT after installing the emtron ecu, recently did some logging to troubleshoot the issue and found the ECU was cutting due to a low oil pressure issue. Going over the log can see that while accelerating at 4k rpm will see 100 PSI of pressure and holding steady at that level until getting off the throttle which then after can see as low as 25 PSI at 3-4k rpm and will recover back to a normal level after that.   Wondering if anyone has an idea what could be the cause as it just feels abit strange and i dont feel like it could be a sensor issues just due to it clearly sitting at a good pressure until off throttle, in the attached can see a 3rd and 4th gear pull but can even perform great through 3 and 4 gears of WOT but still once off throttle and getting back on it will see pressure drop.
    • There are a few different ways of doing it. I'm currently running two 1000cc pre-TB nozzles and PWM the pump for control. I'll be moving over to a constant pressure system and direct port. I'll run the pump off a regular relay, have it cycle on roughly 5psi before I start injecting to build pressure and then PWM a WMI solenoid (It's basically an injector that can take a lot of pressure and not corrode with water and meth.) The solenoid feeds the 6 direct port ~200cc nozzles. I'll also keep one ~250cc pre-TB nozzle to help keep IAT's in check.  Safety will be a little different as well. I used to use a pressure switch but will be moving over to a pressure sensor between my solenoid and nozzles. I'll trigger my solenoid and if I don't see specific pressure within a specific timeframe (e.g 100psi within a second, 175psi within 2 seconds), I kill it and revert back to non WMI maps the same way I did it before with 4D in Haltech. I was just figuring out the timers in my ecu last night. They made that a little more complicated than I would have liked... I wish Haltech offered a larger set of logic/math functions like other ecu's do. I can't do very much with just AND's and OR's.  I've been asked to do fuel/ignition mapping on a medium bore engine at work in May (192L V16). Being the only programmer in my region and having went and opened my mouth about knowing the ins and outs of fuel/ignition mapping, I have now been deemed an expert. Fun fun. The entirety of the logic and algorithms are programmed in C on a PLC. As I spend more time figuring it all out, I like what I see and eventually I may consider doing the same as a pet project to replace my ecu.
    • This would be interesting, would you feed it via a 2nd row of injectors? Or just usual WMI nozzles?
    • Cut sump up and extend. Win win 😂
    • All, What's the recommended torque for the 1/2 head studs for RB30 twin cam conversion with RB26 head?
