Just finished of the dyno with my 200sx S14a Z-Edition RB20DET. I made 449,8hp@1,45kg (8160RPM) boost at the crank.

Quite pleased with that on a stock bottem end. just replased all bearings and ARP bolts all over.

297KW @the hubs.

How did you arrive at the figure of 449.8hp at the crank?

That dyno sheet shows 275.7kw (372hp) at the wheels (hubs).

Corrected power (engine) is 297.1kw (401hp).

Still some very nice power, but quite similar to what AD4M is making here (383hp at the wheels) on a stock RB20.

Cause there's civics n stuff over there runnin twin nos bottles and like 800hp mang gotta compete

I'd say his quoted figure is a bit more realistic. To only lose 20kw through the drive train (whilst revving the crap out of it, max power at 8160rpm) isn't very realistic at all.

What turbo is that running? Looks pretty laggy, bit too laggy considering the power it makes.

fark yeah nice effort. But my question is why an rb20 into an s14? Never heard of Z-Edition??? They dont come stock rb20det im guessing as its an older engine

Hi, The 200sx S14a Z-Edition was sold in europe. Only 200 made. They came with Eibach lowering springs, Remus sports exhaust, 19" BBS rims and fully leather interiour. It came with SR20DET but I have done a rebuild with a RB20DET from a R32GTS-T

Lose the GTR badge mate. If I saw your car on the street with that I would just laugh and think you were another knob who didn't know the first thing about what he was doing.

Hi, thanks for youre taughts. But we have called it Sky-Lite :P

I run a Turbonetics 60-1 with a A\R .63 exhaust housing. I will achive boost about 5-600rpms earlier by setting up my wastegate with vakum in bottem, and boost line fro boostsolonoid on top.

Hi, I run a 3.6diff and a S13 CA18DET tranny. Therefore the loss in drivetrain. It does well over 300KM`h with that gear ratio.

Good work :P

RB20's rev well and sound sooo nice

got to love RB's 297 rwKw and a mear 369.9 nM of torque, rev the ring out of them and go nowhere. Dam impresive result mate.

HUB and RWKW are a fair bit different, rwkw is less again

^^^ Yeah, rwkw is about ~15-20kw less than measured at the hubs.

If you've got a 3.6 final gear, you should probably look into getting the stock 4.363 in there, much better match for the RB20, covers up its lack of bottom end a bit and keeps it in top end more. Unless of course you regularly need to go over 300km/hr?

    • What HVAC actuator is under the steering wheel? Do you mean on the RHS of the centre console, immediately to the left of your shin? If so, then yes, it is probably that one, because that is the mode door actuator, and from what I know, it's still a pain in the arse to replace. I don't know about whole dash out, but you certainly have to rip into the centre console section. I don't know if it's covered in the workshop manual, as I haven't spent much time looking at those parts of it. (and by "the workshop manual, I mean the R32 GTR one, which is the most comprehensive one we have, and it should be similar enough between that and later cars to serve as a guide).
    • ...oops. forgot the TCU end...
    • No I got mine from a friend that had fabricated one … but I had to fit it to my setup which was a hks turbo setup. His was a Garrett -7. So one of my turbos was not a flange for one side … then I had a leak in the welds I had to find a weld shut … in the end the setup was decent priced but I spent a lot to get it fitted. A couple companies I checked would make it but you’re talking 7-9k aud with titanium. No joke mine was 6-7k even second hand after I had to fit it in Hong Kong … labour is expensive here.
    • I'd just like to restate that I don't think anyone here is actually hating I recently sold a car part to a guy who was building a forged auto R34, with MV stall and aiming at ~450kw. I told him that I'm him, from the future and to stop after it explodes once. I told him I knew he won't listen the first time, and that's fine. But if my predictions do come true - Change direction faster than I did. I also said it's probably no coincidence that the dyno plot of a reliable turbo engine starts to look a lot like a N/A motor. :p
