Hey guys, i got my new splitfires today, and am about to change my sparkies.....when replacing with new ones(bcpr6es-8), how much should i tighten them, i have no torque wrench....i was told a few amounts of turn, and not too overtight, i need clarification though on how much will suffice.

thanks:)

Also, im running 10psi, should i gap at 1.1mm, or .8mm?....i was running .5mm on my last set with the old coils to get rid of the missfire, will i notice better performance from getting the gap up higher again'??

thnaks

Try 1.1 and ensure both earths are clean.

It will mention on the spark plug packet how tight to do them.

You'd be pushed to notice better performance but you will notice smoother idling and possibly a bee's dick better fuel economy.

When i got new NGK Platnium plugs (Heat Range 8) they were pre-gapped to 1.1mm<birthday gift lol> and i've got Spitfire Coilpacks (few months used), i'm running 18-19pounds of boost and its all good not one hiccup or misfire.

Previously i was running Copper 7's gapped at 0.65-0.8mm and 19psi with the standard coils packs to avoid mis-firing.

The instructions on the packet regarding crush of the washer are the go.

Also apply a tiny tiny amount of copper based never-seize high up the threads near the washer.

Nissans need them good and tight or you'll see carbon build up all the way up the threads, and that's what causes the binding with potential thread damage to the head.

I do what the packet says.

Tighten up all the slack then do a 1/2 to 2/3 turn on top of that with the ratchet.

I just changed mine again last week and they were a tad loose so i really gave it a good yank but it wouldn't have gone past 3/4 turn

^^ but I used.... oh...

also, the tightening instructions on the spark plug packet are for NEW spark plugs. You will get a feel for how tight they need to be when you follow the instructions with NEW plugs. Remember how tight that "feels". If you pop your plugs out later to check them, and put them back in, don't tighten them another half turn again it will be way too tight because the crush washer has already squashed flat. Tighten them up so they feel the same as the first time.
