1500 for the nav a further 900 for the tv. Sounded to me on the rich side. There is no one else here that I can get another quote from.

is this a reasonable sum?

nope thats close to what I do them for here. tack on time as well - roughly $3k for the lot and 2-3 days of the fiddly stuff.

It could turn out to be a little scary on the road after all the bolt-ons with the super soft suspension the ARX4 has.

Can someone recommend a good suspension set up. I don't want it to be stiff as a board. My wife has a nice Magna thats been dropped on its arse. Its a little too stiff for my liking but it is fun to drive, a good happy medium would be nice. Suspension set ups are something I don't know allot about. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm trying to decide between AR-X and standard myself... after reading and translating heaps of jap sites there are a number of clear warnings not to touch the ride-height or stiffness of the AR-X verisons, so I would be VERY careful about adjusting your AR-X suspension... the AR-Xs have HICAS four wheel steering - so changing ride height, and even tyre-width or track width can really mess with the HICAS and get dangerous.... if you do want to look at suspension changes with your AR-X I would first talk to a couple of the Perth jap tuning houses about possibility of disconnecting your HICAS system. Being able to lower an M35 and widen the track width and increase rim size is probably the main reason I wont go for an AR-X model.

I am keen to get a sit in an M35 in Perth - so PM me if you can about catching up! :)

Oh and sorry to be another spoil-sport one further dispell the 'first in oz' thing - but there was an M35 for sale more than a two years ago registered - came over as a personal import.

Bugger huh. Not the first.

My AR-X does not have the HIICAS on it and it is missing the good lights. I would have to say that my headlights are little better than that found on a scooter. Thats how poor they are.

Would never go country driving at night with whats on it now.

Have started down the track of suspention lowering. After a couple of stuffups we hope to have the coil-overs in and going in another 6 weeks.

At this time I have put in some stiffer springs. Which has improved it quite allot from the soft slop that was there. Still not perfect though.

Just what is the point of having an ARX just to lower it? Why go to that bother? Why not just buy a standard M35?

Theres a few reasons weighing up in my mind as to why the AR-X might be a good option for modifying / lowering etc over the normal ones:

- Larger rolling diametre... they not only got 18" stock instead of 17", but larger tyres etc increasing the overall rolling diametre... which if you want to dump one and get fat rims... means you can "legally" get wider and bigger rims fitted to an AR-X than the other M35s. (225/55R18 vs 215/55R17)

- The plastic gaurds around the wheel arch can be retained and colour-coded when mixing a bodykit in so also keeping a 'legal' wider car (an extra 15mm each side for wider rims) without having to get wider quarter panels or flares.

- While leather etc was an option on Rs-4... they standard fitment on an AR-X

- 200w Bose speaker system including subwoofer in the spare wheel well etc is also more common to find in AR-X

- Limited Slip Diff standard on AR-X - rare option on non-AR-X

You nailed it Brazin....that's the exact reason I just bought one of these....I looked into the AXIS as well but found by the time I got it back here and all done I was spending about an extra $7 to $8 Grand for different wheels, suspention and body Kit and an average car...the AR-X was a far better deal and you get everything on it. Now I have all the extra money for mods.

Mods are on and hasn't it made a massive difference to the car.Medallion exhaust 3" stainless from turbo backCoil-overs all roundPod air filter and greedy inter-coolerThe biggest difference is made by the super sexy Vienna wheels shod in 595 EVO 225/35ZR20 tiresI was looking at getting a Dolphin body kit. Once I saw the car I now have caned that idea as it looks bloody hot the way it is. All mods were done by C-red in Perth and many thanks to Jeff from C-red very happy with the end result, it just works. Thanks to Brazin for putting me on to C-red. It was a pleasure dealing with Jeff. I'm still waiting for the call back from a couple of other tuning houses here in Perth. Have no idea how they stay in business with the shit customer service they give.

I third that motion of pic's!!!!

Just installed a 3" cat back exhaust....certainly makes a difference in uptake but it's dying for more boost. Anyone got Turbo spec's on these...need to know what a safe level without spitting bits of motor or turbo through the exhaust.

Also let us know about cost's for lowering and were to get springs from....my new wheels go on next week and it definatly will need to come down at least 1.5 to 2 inches.
