I agree.

And to retort on Duncans post.

I guess you would get that, if you had some young teen taken to do "advanced driver training" and all that intails is him doing skids on a skidpan and donuts and drifting, then he goes home adicted takes his parents car out.

But the suggestion of 'driver training', is not limited to skid pan. If the training program is implemented in a proper professional manner, covering all aspects of car control, and defensive driving, Not JUST SKID PAN. then this would be effective in driver education.

Doing just skid pan, acheives nothing in ON Road driver training. It really needs to cover all aspects.

And I doubt very much m3 or myself are suggesting this approach.

Now, for a start, 17-20 year olds ARE going to speed. It's a biological thing. I know I did my far share of reckless driving at that age, and for no real reason other than it was fun.

Fortunately, most of my reckless driving was on big industrial sites, private roads and claypans, so the danger to others was minimal.

i think driver training is a great idea, but add in legal, street class motorsport for them. Things like Drag-tag are an option too. They're gonna speed, you may as well make sure they are trained for it and do it in an appropriate environment.

I did find that by getting it all "out of my system" away from public roads, I didn't need to do it in public so much.

But what's wrong with big precision events, like motorkhanas and such, that require control more than pure power? I think these type of things are perfect for drivers wanting to learn better control.

Yeah but bro its isnt fully sick....I cant have my subs up real loud at a motokhanas, Parramatta Rd is so much sicka cause of da chicks mate......

.....see the prob, proper car control isnt seen as cool to most guys my age (21) myself personally would rather go to somthing like DECA then doing fully sik skids in the car park at maccas.

I wish the government though like that and funded more days like deca where you can let some steam off legally.....prob is when I was leaving DECA earlier this year the 5 cars in front of me all went outta the car park side ways but i didnt see one of them on the skid pan.
