Dude seriously, Do you think your car would last a whole day(8-10hrs) of solid sliding, not to mention tyres......... And thats with only 20 people out there! i think it could easy be 1 day and split into sessions, I'm sure you could find numbers BUT how big do you want this day to be?? exclusive?

^^^Dude seriously, I am just going with what Simon said.

A car properly and safely tuned can last a whole day sliding no probs. I mean it wouldnt be the first time, have you heard of drift schools that run all day at mallala?

I just think a mixed grip and drift day will be harder to organize, but nothing against grip here, hell I might even give it a go myself.

Relax dude :D

Cheers

Ric

yeah as Darren said your car wont take the whole day of drifting split sessions up

Drift

Grip

Drift

Smoko

Grip

Drift

Grip

Lunch

Drift

Grip

Drift

End Day

as you can see by a format like that the Drifters get an extra sessiong over the Grip but easier to please more people that that

+1 /shows interest

Drift schools....... Whats that! :laughing-smiley-014:

I'd have $20 on saying just after lunch there will be people searching for tyres if they havn't already pooned the wall or blown up!! Half a day with nothing on the track = $$$ wasted to me, Personally for the $500 for that day, Id rather go do a normal prac day once a month for the next 5 months! just my opinion!

Oh :) right back at ya!

Thats fair enough, I think breaking up the session is a good idea, just going to take a bit more to organizing.

I was thinking 2 groups of 13 each (26 total):D

Group 1: Drift

Group 2: Grip

8:30 Open

9:00 Drivers briefing

9:30 G1

10:30 G2

11:30 G1

12:30 Lunch

1:30 G2

2:30 G1

3:30 G2

4:30 G1

5:00 G2

5:30 Close

3x1hr Sessions + 1x1/2hour session

At $200 a head makes $5200. Is that going to be enough to cover the track fees?? if not fit a few more people in and voila!

Watcha think peeps?

Cheers

i think chuck in a few more people only lik 5 - 7 and get the cost to around $150 that sounds more reasonable

all sounds pretty good in theory guys, i think definitely split it into both drift and grip, best of both worlds. I'll be in but i won't hold my breath, i've been on here over 2.5 years now and i reckon this would've been suggested 10 times easily and its never come off. So Simon if you can get all this together and happening then u will be well respected by me and many others here, :D haha! I also think like Adam said get the numbers up around 30 so the cost is reduced a little cause once u add up the initial cost say $150 then petrol $50-$80, Brake pads & fluid $100, minor service $100, tires $200-$800 your starting to look like an expensive day, i know all thats worst case scenario but you get what i'm saying! even with 30 people you'd get more than enough track time!

Spoken with clem and i'm getting the ball rolling, You guys are on the money tho i think i will organise both drift and grip in the one day with split session, I plan on taking out plenty of brand new rubber out to ensure that the car slides all day long. I have a few mates who are in the beginner boat and they will learn a hell of a lot more from doing consistant laps rather then do a lap and wait 20 mins before you can do another one...

I would much prefer to cap this to a limited amount of people.. that way everyone is guarenteed track time, even if it does cost a little bit more.. i know i rather pay 20 bucks more if i get to do constant laps..

mr rbman: yeah it will be be more expensive then a regular prac session however you'll have more track time, less waiting around doing nothing and so on...

requirement at this stage is that everyone needs to have a L2S Cams licence and be a member of a car club...

Sounds like it's already a step further than it's ever been :D

How do we go about getting a L2S license?

need to be part of a CAMS affiliated car club, sporting car club is who im with, bout 30 bucks a yr for membership with them, then you can get the CAMS licence through them, probly about $50. WOuldnt think day licence would be available for a day like this.

found some cams affiliated clubs here: http://cams.com.au/content.asp?PageID=Clubs

i'm looking at joining one of these 2 (NISSAN DATSUN CAR CLUB OF SA, MITSUBISHI GSR/EVO CLUB in the next few days cause by the sounds of things simon's got things going and i totally agree with you about limiting the numbers, i'll be there even if i don't have my 25 box in, in time. The diff will be in by this weekend!

Does anyone have any other suggestions on clubs that would be good to join? CLub PSI?

Is the L2s license the most basic one above the day license and do most clubs charge the same amount obviously wanna go the cheapest!?

Also do you know if we'll be able to get timed laps?

next G1 is only just over 2 weeks away so i highly doubt would have time to organise it by then. Kudos to Simon though for getting the ball rolling on it.

So in regards to what you said simon about needing a level 2S licence, us who have Level 2NS licences for drift, we will need to purchase the next level up for this day?

First up, it will not be before G1.. prob a month after it.. gives people a chance to save up, get time off work (it will be a weekday) etc etc.

as for license, 2NS should be fine, i will double check, however its another 40 on top to get the L2S i believe. But since its a private prac you may not need it.

As for car clubs, Sporting Car Club SA (SCCSA) does membership for 35 bucks PA, thats who im with and it works for me :(

and that gives you the l2s/2ns license?

a weekday huh? that'll make things a bit harder but i'll work on it, will need plenty of notice though!
