Hiring Mallala - Questions

rbman, 2s and 2ns are 2 separate licences.

2ns(non speed) is used for drifting as it is still not classified as a high speed motorsport

2s (speed) is used for grip racing as it is classed as a high speed motorsport.

so the 2s licence is more expensive then the 2ns, im not entirely sure by how much, i just renewed my 2ns and think it was about 45 so if simon thinks it another $40 on top will be around the $80 mark. Hopefully we can use the 2ns licence.

L2NS: Drift, motorkhanas and grip practice

L2S: Hill-climbs, super sprints, regularity runs and all of L2NS.

I had L2NS last year, but have stepped up to L2S this year so I can do regularity and super sprints, and possibly hill climbs.

If this does become grip and drift, I'm gonna have to take SOOOOOOO many rims and tyres out...

Could just get too lazy to change the semis and go drift on them Would be fun

i was saying if you already have L2NS you can probably get into contact with CAMS and upgrade to L2S.. However i dont think its a requirement at this stage.

was having a think about this today and i've only got the rims on my car but i have spare tires, this is going to be a problem i'm guessing as i'd imagine there wouldn't be a tire fitter attending this and i do intend to do both the grip and drift?!?!?! mmmmmmmmmmmm

This is where it gets complicated, people wanting to do both Grip and Drift and how you go around to organize this.

If you are starting at drifting ( I assume you are) a extra set of rims with tires should be enough to last you a few sessions or the whole day (depending on how much power you have too) so it shouldnt really be an issue. Just get a pair of stockies or something and go out and have some fun.

I doubt i could arrange a tyre fitter to be out there during a week day... so really its a case of run what you brung... Best bet is to rope in a couple of mates to come out also and carry some borrowed rims with grip and drift rubber.

Having a bit of a drama trying to secure a date with clem atm... he's really unsure about hiring it out for private drift days due to the past actions of a select few people (cough JMS drift days back in 2002) so he's still a bit bitter about that.

nevertheless, i'll try and make it happen soon! Really dont want to hire out AIR... its so so shit... (the surface, layout is cool)

ye, definitely a beginner here. I used to have 2 spare sets of rims but have slowly got rid of them over time, i'll have to see if i can find a cheap set as monies tight!

mate if you just do the grip stuff you'll still have a ball. you'll have the whole day so in the drift session you get ti have a break and so does the car.

facilities wont be available i doubt, not even sheds i will try and arrange at least ONE shed so we all have access to power and so on.

also, there will be a record of drivers attending so this means giving up your ph number and licence details to clem, Basically means you cannot in any way be a dickhead on the track otherwise it will come back and bite you on the arse!
