You will not need an aftermarket ECU to run an Electronic Boost Controller. The E boost 2 is quite popular and a good boost controller, however a little expensive for my liking when you compare them to the Blitz EBC's which i believe and have read to be much better in holding boost and many more features. If your only going to be running something like 13psi and want to go a bit of a cheaper boost controller but still very good, go the Greddy Profec B 2, very good boost controller and can be easily mounted compared to having an extra gauge being mounted somewhere.

Hope that helps ya mate. Do a bit of a search for EBC's as this topic has been covered quite a few times.

I have one in my wrx... does the job, doesn't spike, and is easy to use...... although the Greddy Profec E-01 in my line holds a completely flat boost curve. If I had to chose one or the other it would be the E-01 hands down.

Much the same in price $500-$600.
