Some Further Help Required Please

hi guys

i recntly had some issues with my coil packs, my car was missing on hard excelleration, so i pulled the coils and painted them with nail polish as previously demonstrated on DIY. unfortunantley as some predicted due to the heat factor it didnt last so i pulled them back out and covered them with industrial silcone.

which wistands high temp, however problem is still there.

my question is, is it possible that my coils are that stuffed that they are no longer repairable, I would like to also add that the only reason why i reverted to painting them from the start was to boost more, and i never had an issue on stock boost.

i know i am going to have to get new coils sooner or latter but i would prefer to hold off on them for a while and perhaps i can get splitfire coils .

any help would be very much appreciated.

mate regap you plugs lower.....

and i had massive misfire problems, went to bunnings and grabbed some selleys 401 industrial strength silicone, can withstand heat upto 205 degrees. Cover the bottom of the coil where they crack in the silicon. I did this on the weekend and it worked an absolute treat. I found this from the diy section after lots of searching and it worked wonders (i think it even might be a few pages into that nail polish thread as i read tat aswell)

plugs are gapped at 0.8 and i did use the shelly's silicone from bunnings ($11)

when you had the miss did it pop at all or was it just choking ?

they do degrade internally over time, and this is terminal. yours may well be past it. contact Slide for a good price on Splitfire coils

how would i know if they are stuffed from the inside?

Try gapping them to .6 or .7 and running a plug with a colder heat range. i ran BCPR9ES's in my rb30det which managed to get my stock coils to push 360rwkw without complaining.

mine are gapped to .6 and they were popping like a misfire usually is
