I thought I would start a new thread as there is a lot of talk about a meet up point which is getting confused with general chat about the day.

Rather than go back and forward with suggestions please consider the following:

For those who want to cruise down to Wakefield together, I can meet at Casula Bunnings car park at the cross roads from 6:00am leaving at 6:15am SHARP.

This is located where the Hume Hwy splits into Camden Valley Way and Campbelltown Road. The big white building in the centre of this map: Map

I think this is a good spot as it is near the M7 and M5 so is convenient for those coming from most parts of Sydney. It is also easy to get on the Freeway and head to Goulburn from this point.

Post or PM if you want to meet up from here.

615 not too late to leave? Thought the track opened at 8am :)

I does but you will have rego, drivers meeting, etc. My guess is you won't be on the track before 8:30 at best. Getting there earlier just get you a better garage.

615 not too late to leave? Thought the track opened at 8am

For the Circuit Club day at Wakefield we met at 6:30 am and left at 6:45 stopped for fuel at Marulen and arrived right on time for their 8:30am registration.

If we leave at 6:15am we should be there by 8:00am driving the speed limit.

I don't think that track time starts until 9:00am anyway.

+1 more.

I would have thought the servo would be a better option to meet at, as i usually fill the car and jerry can before the track day.

I usually fill up the day before so I don’t have to worry about chasing fuel so early in the morning.

We will stop at Marulen BP which is about 20 to 30 minutes or so before the track. This will give everyone a chance to fill up with premium (BP Ultimate 98 ron) and get snacks and drinks if necessary. There is even a Hungry Jacks and a Diner if you want breakfast.

This way everyone gets to the track with a full tank of premium.

cant wait to pop my track cherry and meet you guys again. Have only met handful of you once at the SAU dinner at the mean fiddler but was too pissed to remember any of you. Do remember only adam, nick and jess from that dinner though am not sure if it would be vice versa

    • My idle is set at 950rpm though - Moving the timing around 20 degrees is not really what I'd call a calm idle. That said... neither is chop, by definition. The LS ECU likes to adjust timing to hold idle as opposed to air. It'd work, but generally speaking there'd be a discrepancy in the base idle and the IACV would want to move the timing around anyway to maintain said idle. I think I'm just going to keep the timing steady anyway. Preserve my engine mounts.  My aircon is now officially regassed. As the guy was reversing I noticed my reverse lights do not operate, along with my reverse cam. This is a bit distressing, because 100% of guides talk about which wire to connect to backup cams as "the goes with the [other color] wire". Often when doing conversions. Unfortunately the R34 colour wires aren't documented Unfortunately I had a T56 Magnum gearbox with it's reverse switch, which also isn't documented. Unfortunately there's definitely not documentation for people with both of these in the one car. Unfortunately I forgot. After many hours of this, I have a reverse cam and reverse lights again. The wire going through the trans tunnel to the reverse switch had broken. Upon inspection, it looks like this one wire had about 7 spade terminals and extensions in it.. for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend. I also spent the 750 hours required to clean up the wiring behind my head unit which now looks like this: This is a monumental improvement relative to what used to be there WRT triple gauges, head unit, traction control, wideband controller, and whatever the f**k OEM stuff still exists there in various states of connectivity/needed. Next step is to check in at the Exhaust shop to see/confirm how much clearance I have, to decide what mid mufflers or 'resonators' (which are just straight through, narrower mufflers) I can add and hopefully cut out a lot of exhaust leaks, pinhole, v-band or otherwise. But first step will be to 'take a look' before the next step.
    • Fark the AFM card and Nistune, Haltech Nexus S3, DBW, cruise control, flex fuel, dis dat.
    • It's most likely the bolt/bush where the cover bolts back wore and allowed cover to move forward.
    • Still haven't put the injectors and R35 AFM in so we can tune the bloody thing for the HG highflow it got mid last year! I think I can forecast the upgrade path to a bigger twin scroll, external gate, Haltech, flex setup, Samsonas, dis dat, etc will be .... a while away!
    • Should have taken that opportunity to slot in a twin scroll turbo setup. Maybe next time.
