to be honest turn 1 scares the shit out of me.

And I think you'd already left by the time XCUZME had his little excursion.....

Was starting to get turn 2 down better after some good advice from Scathing.

Good to hear. I still can't get the Turns 2-3 complex correct consistently, but I know where I should be even if I can't make it stick.

yeah that wasn't fun. I was right behind him.... well not directly, but I was directly behind the soarer on the racingline and he went the inside to overtake him, a little too fast.. felt like it all happened in slow motion. My hands wouldn't stop shaking ... and was hell nervey first session back out there.

He must be feeling a little sore today!!!

Great time! I thought you said you were running around 2 mins! You must have pulled out a blinder for that lap....

nah.. 2.03 .. I wanted to get under 2mins... but it wasn't going to happen. Bit disappointed!!! But next time hey!

but far out, I am sick of all the drivers thinking they are shit hot and being too stubborn to let a faster car through! The amount of times I had caught up to a car by turn 2.... not being waved past and having him fang it down the straight only for me to catch him again come the first corner... it's a f**king joke.

I'm certainly not the fastest driver so when i see a car coming through in the rear view.. i automatically stick my hand out the window and wave him past so I don't disrupt his lap as much.

Anyone else missing a few sessions of timing??? It looks like I've got some missing.

Was someone else driving your car or using your transponder? Your time on Natsoft is 1:52.

Yeah, I had a massive rant about it after the Wakefield CC...for which I got told off about. The A group is generally quite courteous. Aside from the cock in the turbo S2000, who has a reputation for it, to my knowledge everyone else in my session was waving faster traffic through. But when I drove in the B group at Wakefield, I had a couple of guys not wave me past, and in fact I had an Evo baulking me when I had a look up his inside to engage him in a braking duel.

I promised Narada I'd do a "track courtesy" article, which I haven't completed yet. I'll try finishing it off this weekend so he can print it in The Circuit and maybe up on the site.

that's a top idea!!! I hope the yellow s15, the black integra, the white integra and the black soarer read it! I don't think i got one clear lap in because of all the traffic... maybe I'm just too nice and should try and nudge my way infront anyway.

Yeah liz, what gives? You're 12 in the natsoft listing :) did you cut across the in field at some point

Nice times btw guys.

don't get too excited, I still can't drive lol.

I shared my transponder with Andrew was they didn't have enough to go around.

I thought it might have been Andrew, perhaps in your car.

I'll get the article out to Narada soon. Tonight, hopefully.

All was fine afterwoods..hey and guess what BHDave the car did over 180kph with a standard ecu well over 180 surprise surprise, cant wait for another go at it as my times were lowering with every lap, next time i'll drive for the whole day and not half a day. Has anyone checked out their photo's at JDM's website? worth a look if your interested. cheers

    • With same diff ratio, tyre diameter and road speed, the tailshaft rpm is the same regardless of the gearbag's ratio. Given that very quick drag cars are probably doing similar road speeds to the fastest circuit cars (circa 300 km/h), and there will be many of either category that can't go that fast and so you'd have inummerable matchups between drag and circuit car speeds at smaller numbers, and given that they are probably using rather similar tyre diameters and probably using similar diff ratios, and...where any of those numbers were different they could quite easily be in opposite directions thus cancelling out.... I think you'd find that there'd be more similarity than difference in tailshaft speed between these two use cases, no?
    • they might see those prop shaft speeds for 1 to 2 secs only
    • A year of slogging through this bearing issue and finally fixed. What a nightmare. The oil pressure increase did not fix the problem. If you would like to read all the details in case you ever run into a similar issue visit my thread on Yellow Bullet. https://www.yellowbullet.com/threads/continuous-rod-bearing-issues.2689569/?post_id=74193031&nested_view=1&sortby=oldest#post-74193031 In the end the rod bearings themselves were the issue. I had switched from ACL (first engine) to King because that was all we could get at the time and I thought nothing of it. Put the ACL's back in after a year of taking the pan off multiple times to change many things. Issue resolved. Can't believe it was just the bearings themselves all along. It has now been about two years since I drove the car on the street or had it at the track. At some point I had installed all solid and spherical bushings in the rear but had never aligned it since it just went on and off the dyno. Alignment was the first thing to do. (Old photo but same concept) Then I took the transmission out and went through it. This was my first gearset install and I've done about 15 since this one and learned a lot and wanted to apply some of these tweaks to mine. The aftermarket shift forks take very well to some modification and I wanted to make that change. Shifts are now super smooth and no having to find the gear. I also recut the 5th and reverse shift sleeves - always wanted to try this and see how well it works. It works very well! No grinds or having to do a second attempt going into reverse and 5th is perfect. Before During After Going back in In rummaging through my spare trans parts box I found the only parts I've ever broke on a stock trans; the 3-4 shift fork - twice!
    • It also depends on gearbox ratio. Those drag cars running 7s passes aren't doing it on an overdrive gear ratio (probably). 1:1 is "fine", the critical RPM for a 50' single driveshaft in chromemoly is 6900rpm.... ....but when you shift into 5th and use 0:73 or 0:8 it all changes. Do you know their rear diff ratio? etc. That's the stuff that matters with regards to it. Whether it actually matters given your use application is also relevent. You may never get into those scenarios, like most ruined GTR's from Western Sydney don't :p
    • but for how long? would it handle a few laps around SMSP in anger?
