Hi,

I was actually going to start a thread in relation to the Anniversary models myself as I have recently bought one, but you've saved me the job :thumbsup:

My car is a Skyline GTS-t Type M 60th Anniversary, and since I've had it I've found a bit of information, but if anyone can help fill in the gaps it would be much appreciated...

Anyway, Here is a few pages from the original sales brochure (it would be very hand if anyone can read low resolution japanese to fill out the details)

The 60th anniversary version was built to celebrate Nissan's 60th Anniversary in 1993, as opposed to the R33 40th Anniversary version which was built to commemorate the Skyline's 40th Anniversary. As far as I can tell the following features came standard on the 60th Anniversary versions:

- Fog/driving lights in front spoiler

- GTR front and rear seats

- Rear Spoiler with brake light

- 'Super Fine Coating' - not sure what this was (some kind of paint treatment?) - more info. would be appreciated

- Gold Badges

- Special Key

- Projector Headlights

- Different steering wheel (?) with Airbag(?) (not sure on this one -but on the sun visor on my car it has a bunch of japanese with 'SRS Airbag' written in large letters in the middle of it - so if anyone can confirm this it would be great).

- Different stereo/radio

It would be interesting if someone could provide a figure for how many 60th Anniversary editions were made in Japan, and how many forum readers actually have one...

Did yours come with the anniversary key + gold badges?

Mine basically looks exactly like yours (1993) although it didnt include all the anniversary features :D

Another 60th anniversary bonus, i believe, is the chrome lip running ontop of the frontbar.

Also does your horn button blend in with the steering wheel material? Ive picked up a series 1 steering wheel but they have a shiny plastic horn button instead.

Interesting thread. I didnt know about the significance of my 60th Anniversary key!

- Fog/driving lights in front spoiler - Dont have this because of a GTR bar

- GTR front and rear seats - Interestingly mine are leather GTE-V seats.

- Rear Spoiler with brake light - Have this..

- 'Super Fine Coating' - Mines been repainted- Gold Badges

- Special Key - Got this but the clear cover bits come off

- Projector Headlights - Um.. if I have them Id hate to see normal ones cos mine are shithouse

- Different steering wheel (?) with Airbag(?) - I have this but steering wheel has been replaced so Airbag is no longer there (I have that crap all over the visor too- Different stereo/radio - Had this and took it out "Carrozerra" or something..

First I've heard about it and never thought about the differences..

Are these the projector lights?

Does anyone have a list or know what anniversary model skylines have ever been released.. i am more curious about the R33's, but all models are good. I have a 40th anniversary 1997 R33 GTS-T. What other "special" editions have been released?

I have the R33 40th too but it's 1998.

I'm sure all the other I've seen a '98 too.

Get your VIN checked, you might be suprised and find it's a 98 that was incorrectly stamped. :D

The obvious things are rear badges on the outer C-columns (if that's what you call em)

and badges on the front 2 seats

That's about it which really sucks for a so-called special edition

..but the badges do look good

Get your VIN checked, you might be suprised and find it's a 98 that was incorrectly stamped. :D

i think the mistake stamping is extremely unlikely. i asume it would be the same as all the other 40th editions. defenitely surprised if it was the only 1997 model. a lot of cars/motorbikes are built one year, released the next. , For example my dad just bought a 2007 model yamaha FJR 1300, but it was built in 2006. The R33's ceased production in march 1998. my car says august 97.

Thanks, yeah mine came with the gold badges and key...

Also I did notice that chrome lip on top of the front bar but I didn't realise that was unique to the anniversary models - ah the things you learn :D

And yep, my horn button blends in

I think its probably related to the airbag - which would have to be an unusual system compared to most cars considering that horn button is right in the middle like that, and not made up of the whole centre/airbag assembly like on most cars with airbags.

I think the projector lights are just the same lights used on GTRs and the late model GTS-t's (earlier GTS-t's didn't have that circular type projector lamp ?) - correct me if i'm wrong tho.

P.S. I've seen your car in the photo threads elsewhere on here yidz - very hot.

Oh, and Rekin you should get a pic of your car up too

I've got a R33 40th anniversary... It has the optional front bar and spoiler - front bar is similar to a GTR front bar but instead of the fat chunky lip - rear spoiler is an adjustable factory GTR without the words 'GTR' on the sides.

Anyone got brochures for the R33 40th?

Well i did see an advertised 97 model a few years back when looking for a mate.

Looke lookie, no 2nd air bag, but the Aus plate under the bonnet did say 97

The guy was dodgey as and trying a bung deal me thinks.

So it can be done but i think that one was intentional for all the wrong reasons.

But anyways, jump on the VIN check thread, it's free.

...and then you might get lucky and find your cars newer than expected..can't hurt

How is the 2nd air bag relevent? Does only the 98 model have one? My car has one.

My 1993 R32 Skyline Type M was the annivesary ediiton - it came with the keys, gold badges, steering wheel, and the two tone seats!

do you have any pics or extra info?

BTW, I remembered another feature I think might be part of the Anniversary Specials - ABS brakes. My car has them - does everyone else who has/had one have them?

Hey I got an R33, I dont know if mine is an aniversary or anything dont even know how to check and it dont have gold badges, but mine did come with the above pioneer "Carrozerra" system in it.

I do not know if this came standard or not, but it did apparently came from japan with them. so i dont know.

      If you want to do the wiring, the GTT engine ecu has the same pinouts extra that the seperate TCM in the NA car has. You can literally grab the wires/pins that lead into the Seperate TCM and wire them into the corresponding pins in the GTT Engine ECU. You could then in theory Nistune it. I realised this when everyone put it in the too hard basket and I actually looked at the f**kin R34 manual. This is after I had previously had a seperate aftermarket TCM controller in my original N/A chassis car and a very built gearbox from a GTT, running a seperate Haltech engine ECU. I ran into this issue when I re-shelled the car into a GTT shell, so my aftermarket TCM was no longer plug and play, because the loom/modules were not present. I was pretty livid when realizing just how simple the original fix actually was. It sat for 3+ years at various workshops trying to find a solution. In practice none of this is a worthwhile idea for a lot of reasons, generally surrounding the shitness of the NA auto, the autos in general that come with skylines, and the NA engine and lack of gains. The gearbox is specced for the 2.5L N/A and barely at that level. If you have to pay anyone any money to do any of this, that is money spent on manualizing the car and it's not even close in terms of a comparison. Learning to drive manual is simpler than going through the pain of dealing with the N/A gearbox and he'll have fun to boot.

      Semi-correction to my blanket statement that you can't bend rubber hoses. It seems that you can get most of a result, by doing as this guy does. I wouldn't promise that the bends will stay in the hose forever. I think if I found they wouldn't stay, I'd get a larger hose and cut some 90°s out to go over the bends I wanted to be in the smaller hose, as a reinforcement.

      Just a heads up. Mine has just failed. When i turn the car on it just reboots everytime then the word "Android" shows up then goes to a black screen. I've aksed the company i got it from for some help but it's passed their 90 day return so they wont help. I have to swap back to my old system this weekend 😭

      Yeah its tuned relatively conservatively being dynoed at 525hp with every bolt on and top end of the motor built wtih HKS vcam and springs etc.
