Sammi - a special thread for you in the main wasteland - the Honda one...

Oh - and sorry for hi-jacking thread.

Yes, I'll take a UHF CB. I'm going home.

:D

I'm going to get my dinner & beer & lovin'

Au revoir.

I think it's rather silly to bother with radios with scramble mode.

Mainly for the reason that the hand helds have a range of only around 1km. :uh-huh:

Dick Smith sell a perfectly good hand held for $99 for 2.

The unit price is $79.88 but you can buy them in pairs for $99.

These are the radios that a lot of our members use, and they work a treat!

More info,

Also, those of us that already have radios or scanners can still use our existing ones.

there's a 2W Uniden model... it doesn't have the scramble mode though.

http://www.uniden.com.au/product.asp?ID=229&Group=2

i think this was designed with range in mind rather than features

There's 2W for range, 500mW for normal use and 40mW for close range and power saving, eg if the car is infront of you.

are you applying for a wholesale price through your business with an ABN etc, for varying quantities??

SKY031 you bag everything those $79 unidens would do for 1km the $99 are better but these gme one as smaller lighter an have twice as much power i have one and as soon as we go over a hill the unidens are useless for an extra $25 it is well worth it the encoding ain't and issue but vox can help :O

p.s the jaycar ones are the worst my mate has one he threw it out as they have no range or quality what so eva you cannot get 5km line of sigh sorry to say :P

well they are no crap but for what you guys will use them for crusing the gme or the 2 watt uniden are heaps more verstile i have both the $99 1/2 watt uniden and the gme and i now wonder why i wasted money on the uniden :P
