Hey guys this is near my first time posting here on SkyAus.

I just purchased a R32 GTR but i'm not new to turbo vehicles.

To be honest I don't know a whole lot about these things and yes ive been searching the forums etc.

It currently has a full 3" exhaust, aftermarket fmic, hks pods and coilovers.

In short I basically what the most power out of it with out spending over 1-2k.

Wan't to leave the turbo's alone.

Some things I have heard is power fc and a tune.. also cam gears?

Will be running a bleed valve around 12-13psi if the thing does a decent job. If not i guess ill be forced into buying a ebc.

Also what kind of power am I looking at? Thanks for your patience :( !

Yeah PFC and EBC would be the way to go and with stock turbos that are really old you can run 14psi but eventually will blow and wreck ur engine and then u will end up spendin like 10k on a rebuild. So maybe you should consider getting a couple of hks gtss or maybe 2860-7's? but with stock turbos and healthy motor u would probably run about 250rwkw. Cam gears will give you more low and mid range gains

hey mate, youve definietely got the basic bolt on mods done. so the best thing to do is to up the boost as you plan to and get a Power fc with a tune. PM hanyou, as i think he is selling one at the moment. You should be able to do this within your price range of 1-2k. With a set of camgears, you should be hitting 250kws at the wheels.

Thanks thats some good info! Yeah thats why I said 12-13psi. 14psi might just push the old turbo's a little too far!!!!

So the power fc is definatly next on the list then. As for the cam gears I know they can cost a bit. Would I get as big of a improvement from the cam gears as I would the power fc with a tune?

250awkw with cam gears so what awkw would i be looking at with just the power fc and tune. Thanks again!

    • I can't believe that anyone is foolish enough to believe that the base maps are for any other purpose than to drive the car up onto the trailer/truck or gently creep it to the dyno. No matter how good they are, they can never be any better than the factory maps**, and only the foolish trust those on a significantly modified setup. **Yeah, yeah. I know there's also the difference between factory maps being fixed to certain injector sizes and MAP/AFM/VE relationships, and the likely aftermarket ECU base maps being better able to handle the sorts of changes that would render a stock ECU dangerous, like different sized injectors. But let's just ignore that for the moment, because the principle is still the same.
    • I'm shocked, you've owned a Skyline since 2006 and never joined SAU before now! 😮   Welcome, it's much quieter these days than it was in 2006, but lots of very knowledgeable ones lurk around here. I actually think in outage we've forgotten more about Skylines than anyone knows about them today... 😛
    • So it could give us some info. Such as we find out what number they started at, and we know how many of those blocks came before it.
    • Everyone wants an ECU they can plug onto their engine, modified or not, and put of the box it just runs perfectly like a brand new modern engine straight off the production line. Too many people just don't understand things like the base maps are as you said, just to give a starting point, and then you need to spend time getting it right for your vehicle.   I wonder if the people wanting it are the same ones who'll just buy a chip for a "stage 2 tune" online and then wonder why their engine blew up...
    • Quite possible! And well worth checking out, as it will be more durable than paint
