the factory vct switches off at around 4500rpm so you get a bit of a flatspot there.

before anyone says that it is rich and retard, that is a violent on/off. and zennon gets it on his r32 and they don't have rich and retard as far as i know.

a new ecu won't fix the problem. it is to do with the variable cam timing. if you got an aftermarket ecu you could adjust where it switches on and off, but that would just move the problem, not get rid of it. if you didn't have the vct kick in at all you would just end up with it being less powerful at low rpm. about the only solution is aftermarket cams.

its hard to say - when i use to have a super lightweight flywheel it seemed to just loose it all together

now i have a normal lightweight flywheel and it seems to loose it and then come back

when the air is very dense (heavy) IE cold cold night - it seems to rev fine all the way to 7 without any problems...

would this indicate its an air flow problem?

for me it feels like it funs out of boost so it pulls then flattens out then after like 5000-6000 rpm it starts boosting hard again

i had the same issue all i did to fix it, is repair coilpacks, regap spark plugs and change my ecu to PFC which has seem to fix the problem i dont know which one has fix the problem as i did all this in one go lol. :worship: i have full boost and full power though out the rev range
