Need Help

Really need help. I'm only new to the skyline/turbo scene. My r33 gts-t auto wont boost over around 3. Have been told that it is supposed to kick to 7 after about 4500rpm but only stays at 3 and sometimes drops to about 2.5. Would appreciate some help.

BOV?

Intercooler?

Anything non standard

It Sounds like a leak.....

There are a couple of threads abouts the same issue in this section, have a look through them and see if any apply to you

my mate just bought a skyline and when he took it for a test drive (at car yard) it was over boosted so he thought it was powerful but the next day when he paid the money he got it home and the apexi comp (cant remember what type) said it was running -3 bar???, it ran really really crappy... was just a matter of adjusting boost control. he put it up to 1 bar which equaled about 6ish psi... but if you dont have much of an idea as he didnt have the slightest, best seek advice from a person thats experienced in the field... the wrong option could do damage...

the car is totally standard

The gauge doesn't read in psi. So 7 is not 7psi (I think it is 700 mm Hg, which is about 13 psi).

1 bar is over 14psi. (14.5 or 14.7, cant remmeber which)

Yeah so the 3.5 x 100 mmhg on your stock gauge should equal about 7psi.

Wrong. As mad082 says, 1 bar = 14.5psi.
