sup y'all

my gym membership expired the other week. The last few years i've been paying high 500's, to mid 600's and was shocked to find the price is now about $900 upfront or $1000+ direct debit!!!

And this seems to be normal! Insane...

anyways, just wondering if anyone out there can hook a fellow SAU Vic brother up with a good gym membership?

I'm bayside way, and ideally a Re-creation contact would be tops.

cheers!

daniel

you can alternatively set up your own gym at home like me for a relatively cheap price...

i can refer you to you to a factory outlet for good prices....

i liek that idea the best, but the problem that i find is that there is no motivation......plus my weights are in the garage, and my parents complain while im doing weights (crazy old people  )

I go to the monash gym - they bumped up the prices for affiliates to $500 this year (up from $300), but this is still cheaper than fitness first. I think for the public its around 600 maybe.

hey mate, soon ill be looking for a gym soon.....i found a place that will do $500 for 15 months in cheltenham (health link)

ill be heading down there. as for the equipment..its good, max weight for the dumbells are 50kgs

PS; its a fitness center not a gym

I use the Recreation Sandringham, its not that cheap, about $70 a month or close to it but I do have a 2month $50 pass that I can give away... :)

They also don't mind free 1month trials been given away, but don't know if I have any of them left.

i live in Sandy, not sure if Narre Warren would be the best of locations, but thanks for the tip :)

Home gym unfortunately isn't an option, the spare room we have isn't that big and i don't think would take well to weights being dropped constantly. I did think about this option though.

I use to be re-creation Trackside (ended 24th June), so can use King Club in sandy, but i was hoping something around $700-$800 direct debit.

Another vote for the home gym.

Me and my wife with memberships for 3 years - over $3k

Elliptical trainer, bike, punching back, free weights, mats - just over $1k. Excercise any time I want, with any movie/tv show/radio/music I want.

Never been fitter or stronger. :)

Where is this place you speak of?

....shoot me a PM if u dont wanna mention here

this place was one of the cheapest around when set up my home-gym 3 years ago... i spent quite a bit of money there and was able to get more discount... and he delivered to my house so i was happy with his service..

but you might wanna shop around to make sure if they are still one of the cheapest though..

Excellente!

I've been looking at other home gym units, especially the ones on ebay which look to be similar quality at a slightly cheaper price but with a few extra excercises. But on closer inspection, i noted that the ebay unit http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-Multistation-Ho...1QQcmdZViewItem do not have an adjustable chair for performing the benchpress.

So for that lil extra im gonna go for this unit http://www.crazycheapfitness.com.au/?stg=4...w=49&shpc=3 which is similar to the one i had when i was living at home. Not as many exercises as the ebay item, but its got that critical adjustable part.....

Apologies for thread hijack  ....but i'd say home gym might be a better/cheaper option.

Mate I train in St Kilda at the local Police Citizen and Youth Centre. Its $25 per year and costs you $2 each time you visit. Its got everything you need and you only pay when you use it. Only really good for weights though, the cardio stuff is crap.

I previously trained at re-creation, fitness first and even the old underworld before it closed, imo just not worth the money.
