Hey guys , i am currently deciding if i should make a purchase on a r34 that was initially an NA R34 but is now running with gtr engine. I am currently worried that the gearbox is not changed and a NA gearbox wouldnt last very long on a gtr engine. Or does the gtr engine does not fit into a NA gearbox. Anyone has any experience in this? Are there anything that i should be worried of besides the gearbox, that the gtr engine is transplanted into a NA chasis ?

Thanks

BRAKES!!!!!

also transmission, diff, half shafts.

if it's just the motor dropped in... don't do it.

The diff is changed, so are the brakes, all 4 pot brakes front and rear. Pardon me, but what are half shafts? Are there anyway i can inspect if the transmisison is a 33gtr transmission or a 33gtst transmission? The car seems to have spent alot of money on it just from the mods such as titanium exhausts, greddy 4 pot on all 4 brakes. I still need to see it on a hoist to see the condition of the car

33 GTR box will be an AWD box, and unless the car is AWD, it's most likely not going to be one of them. If you look under it and theres a transfer case on the box, but it's still "RWD" probably an even bigger indicator to stay away from the car.

I wouldnt worry too much about the gearbox, find out what box it is, but im betting a standard R34 gt box will take a standard rb26 with no worries, as long as it isnt abused. If its had the diff and brakes upgraded, then there is a good chance it has a gts-t or gtt box, and they are as strong as a gtr box, even stronger in a way as they dont have the loading of the awd. If the price is reasonable, then it sounds like a good thing.
