Broken Coilover Bolt

Hey guys, I had one of the bolts that hold the top of the coilover to the car break. My question is can I replace this bolt on the coilover or do I need to buy a new coilover completly.

it'll just be a pressed in stud, so it can be replaced.

good luck finding one to fit though, i have no idea where you'd start.

so will I just have to find a stud the same diameter as the old one and then have it pressed into place?

not quite, the stud will have a splined section on it which has to match the new stud or it wont fit.

Or you can be dodgy and use a nut and bolt (but i really don't recommend that)

I've been doing some research and I think I can change the whole strut mount. What do you think?

Yeah, you can change the top. Do whatever is easiest for you. Both ways will require disassembly, so if you can get a top cheaply then go for it

thanks. pulled the strut apart, first option is to press a new one in, second is to find a new strut mount.

If you cant get the right stud ( with the correct spline ) or if the spline is stuffed you can spot weld the head on the hat . Make sure you use a high tensile stud and dont overtighten it. People overtighten them , thats why they brake . They don't come loose because they have locknuts but if you undo them a few times the locknuts don't work any more so use new ones .
