is there anything wrong with using american head units for australian use .. like does the radio still work?? need answer in a hurry .. thanks

You shouldn't have any trouble with the FM band, that's the same as far as I've seen.

The AM band wont work though, they have a 10kHz spacing between tuning points, we have 9kHz. Depends on what you want to listen to I guess!

Some digital stereos can be reprogrammed to suit the different specifications, not sure which ones (but generally high-end).

hmmm .. i would like am cause they have lots of them news channels which is generally better than most of the shit channels on fm stations.

then again, some of the high end HU's have frequency adjustments such as the Pioneer series. I had one, and I think it had a 9Hz - 10Hz adjustment. It was one of those Pioneer 6350's

So yeah, who listens to AM anyway??

i like AM .. only the news channels .. sometimes they have some good radio docos on BBC ... so yeah its educational ... ... u need to keep up with whats happening in the world u know

the biggest problem with buying headunits from America is the importing. You MUST check if the buyer will ship to Australia (use air freight or you will be waiting over a month.)

Also if there is a problem with the headunit, chances are no company in Australia will cover it with warrenty and you might have to sent it back to the US.

Also watch out for the importing taxes and charges. Apart from that only the AM band is effected
