Hi there,

I'm looking at getting my Stagea re-registered to SA. Apparently all I need is a vehicle ID check as it is currently registered in VIC. I've heard/read people saying all I need to do is go to the Sturt Rd cop shop, where exactly is it? What's the procedure, do I turn up when they open in the morning or do I have to book in a time? Thanks for any info!

I believe unless you live 40km out of the CBD only then is it a cop shop VIS.

Otherwise.. Regency inspection. :D

If its dead stock and in good nick you have nothing to worry about so transfer rego; if its modified and noticably so leave it regd interstate for as long as possible.

Absolutely stock apart from 17's. Will that be a problem? It's in very good condition otherwise.

Are they very strict with the 40km ruling? I'd rather go there then Regency and get pinged for my 17's.

you'll be fine with the wheels.

more so an ID check, of engine, body etc

yes you can go there, I did. it is along side the sturt cop shop, looks like a council storage lot, about 80m to the west (towards Marion shoppin cntr) of the cop shop, a cple of Big shed.

open tues and thurs only, 9am to 3pm.

when I went I took off my pod filter and boost controller, everything else was stock as a rock and fine. they tried to get me with the windows but I took evidence (20 photos of rego'd stageas) that they conform to the national ADR's.

you'll be fine, about a 20min vehicle check. tell em the wheels are standard with the nissan Dayz stagea. as they are.

17's will be fine as long as the track isn't increased by greater than 25mm (i think its 25mm). So as long as your wheels aren't that wide that they stick out of the guards (or close to) then you shouldn't have a worry.

Its in the council depot next door to the sturt police complex. Just drive in and join the queue/fill out forms. cost $25 payable at marion rego after inspection. They will just check engine no, compliance plate and rego plates. 17's should be ok, but they may pull you up for any blatantly obvious defects tho. generally its pretty cruisy, but they only open a couple of days per week usually 10-3ish.

^^ok what they said!!

Went through the regency numbers check last week. The vin plate that has always been sufficient is no longer. The VIN must be stamped into the body. You can do this yourself with letter and numbers stamps/punches and a hammer or alternatively Regency park motorsport is directly accross from the inspection station and charges $50.00 to do it for you on the spot. It is a new rule that has come in within the last month. Mine was done on the shock tower of my 34 within 2 minutes and they passed it on the spot.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

Yeah mine has the VIN stamped on the shock tower.

Only chance I have to do it is Friday so it looks like I'll be going to Regency Fri morning.

Brendan, good idea with the Dayz edition 17's by the way! That's what I'll say if they pick on it.

What can I show to proof to them the glass is UV cut and not tint therefore conform with ADR's?
