Ok so im putting some HKS 260/264 cams in my RB20 and they have a 9.0mm lift.

I've searched and done a little digging but cant find any concrete info on the tolerances for the stock springs when it comes to lift and when you have to replace them for A/M ones.

I know that the PCD can vary for cam to cam but advised these are direct bolt in but im worried that the lift of them is too high and i might bend a valve :)

If anyone can shed some light or has dropped in cams and measured the stockers could you let me know ;)

Cheers GMB

It's a good idea to replace them while the cams are out anyway, the springs would be worn and loosing tension. If you keep them they might not be an issue providing you don't raise the rev limit. I don't think the lift will be issue, Many people run 9.0mm lift and standard springs on rb20, rb26 springs are an alright upgrade if you don't want to spend the cash on A/M. I'd probably just replace them to be safe and avoid valve float. Hope you like lumpy idle :D

Current limiter is 8850 and wont be going any higher, might even drop it a little :)

At the moment it was a budget thing not upgrading them at the same time but might hold of dropping them just yet till i make up my mind.
