Getting tight bolts off

I tried to put new springs in my car the other day and couldn't cause the bolts wouldn't come off.

What is the best way to get bolts off?

If you just pull then they will break off, i know at least two other people who have learnt this, and they know who they are.

The tip is to use short sharp jerky pulls/hits with the palm of your hand, and most of the time they will let go.

WD40 or similar is also a good idea.

I always oil bolts I know will be a hassle for about a week before I want to take them off.

Go to your locak Kmart or wherever, and get a really long breaker bar(like a really long socket handle). It makes the most stubborn bolts easy.

Also give the nut a good knock with a hammer os something solid but dont hit it to hard or hit the thread.

Same thing happend to me and is still happening. Tried to get one of the bolts off. The bolt started to beark to peices but the main section that is round is still attached.

Ever tried putting on lowered springs with out taking out the suspension? Not very fun at all.

I'm going to grind the bolt off.

Single hex sockets/spanners are great when you're up against a c*nt of a bolt.

If its going to break, youll probably be able to feel it, when you get to this stage you might be a bit screwed.

use leverage but make sure the tool is still on the head realy good.

Just use a lever bar, but dont pull to hard or it'll brake.. short motions should be good.. and make sure that the nut is a TIGHT fit, and no movement, or you may screw the nut
