stupid old guy at carlton vicroads!!!

i just had to vent my frustration guys!!! i went to carlton vicroads to get my car registered and i had a young guy come out and check it. he was just about to pass it when this stupid old guy came out and looked at the comp plates and said 'it needs tamper proof rivets" WTF is that?

so i had to go and get them put on and when i came back the young guy looked at it and approved, but then the old guy came back and spent 10 mins checking the car again!!!!

after an hour of stuffing around i finally got it registered.

thats harsh. at least it got registered. he's propably one of the old farts that clog up the roads by driving at 40 fcuking kph in a 70 zone (sorry just venting my anger)

I warned you about him yesterday.

He insists on the tamper-proof rivets & gets pi**ed off if other testers pass a car that doesn't have them.

The rule is a new one based on the fact that some peop[le were getting one car complied, then taking its compliance plate off & sticking it on other cars to get them registered without being complied first.

it's a sensible rule, but if they're going to enforce it they should help you find someone who can actually supply & fit the right ones!

i understand how you feel mate, a similar situation happened when I was trying to register my car.

I took it to Dande Vic roads on a friday afternoon and one guy was checking everything out and then an older guy came out and told me I wasn't allowed to register it with the rims that came with the car, I thought shit they are only 17' with new tyres and after arguing he wouldnt change his mind. So I had to wait till Monday and I decided to take it to Frankston vic roads and they were just about to approve my car. I was starting to feel happy and then the guy complained about my air filter, and I had enough and cracked the shits. My uncle was there talking shit to him for bout 35mins and finally my car became registered!

Although Im now stuk wit a number plate that say's "SAD" which just puts the icing on the cake.

go to oakleigh although an old guy there as well but we have got cars with massive turbos etc through there before.

he did pick me up on te rivets as well.. altenrative is to get the vin no stamped on the strut tower.. i was early so he told me to take it to garage just around the corner $15 bucks later at it was fine.... never go to carlton heard they are very strict.

dunno what burwood is like though.
