Hi all,

I took my car to get a wheel balance last week and the other day they called me up and said that they can't start it????? I don't know what has happened but the car will not start, they are saying they didn't touch a thing. Anyway the car will turn over but won't do anything more, if someone could shed some light on what they think the matter could be it would be great.

Cheers

BATTERY? THEY OFTEN DIE THIS TIME OF YEAR. I JUST REPLACED MINE RECENTLY. IT WAS TURNING OVER BUT THAT WAS IT. I THOUGHT THE WORST BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY SKYLINE BUT TURNED OUT TO BE THE BATTERY.

sounds like fuel pump, happened to my car a while ago, and it just randomly happened, car was driving normal one day and the next just didn't start. Maybe just take the fuel line that comes out of the fuel filter and heads into your fuel rail out and turn the car over, if fuel pores out, then you can eliminate the pump as a problem......be ready with a bottle to stop the fuel going all over the place. Does the car turn over freely or does it sound like it's realy struggling? cause if it turns over the engine easy then you can eliminate the batt as a problem.

something that stops working that abruptly - like in the space of an hr sounds like the CAS. best way to check is to take one of your spark plugs and coil packs out, put the spark plug back into rubber boot of the coil pack as it would be if it was assembled, hold the spark plug onto something earthed and check if theres a spark as someone turns the engine over.
