i'm guessing your problem is mostly caused by wheelspin due to a very peaky power delivery?

you could always try loading the old clutch against the throttle just before the flag drops, and slipping it a bit on take-off

(p.s will obviously be harder on the clutch though)

how about a variable boost control system for lanches like AVCR has 1st gear 5psi 2nd 10psi 3rd full boost etc

need to have it setup so you can easily switch it back to normal mod after the launch though

how stupid is it that in D1 you would never have this problem as the drivers keep pace with each other rather than have a drag race at the start

ps get swaybars and the whole rearend adjustable setup .5 deg neg on the back would help a little bit to

the other items might not help but Im supprissed that with that much grunt you havent covered the other bases first

pps engine mods list please

yeah as above.somthing with launch controll.

cant you just feed the throttle?

it's all got to do with suspension setup.how much camber is on the rear?having different spring rates help launch also.bigger tyres are a good start as well..

ps:were you at the last fri night off street drift meet at OP?

nath, you need to work your spring rates into it also, but I was running +0.5 camber on the rear with -1deg toe... always hooked up with nearly 800nm torque.

just a thought mate.

sounds like congrats are in order dan. i didn't think i'd be seeing you out on the track this year. what happened to scott? do you think you can make that thing slide? will you be changing forums? :laughing-smiley-014:

I would look at your dampers and springs. also look at adjusting the traction rod to place the rear upright more upright. and better tyres also.

thanks for the reply, i'm hopefully going to borrow some softer rear coilovers to try, can you elaborate a bit more on what to do with my traction arms? should i change the angle of the rear cradle using bushes? thanks in advance

LOL, no staying on here mate, I love this place! Thanks for the congrats, I didn't expect to be back this year either.

Scott left the team for reasons that I'm not too sure of, you would have to ask him mate.

As a result I got an invite to test the car, and it turned into a drive.

The Car has plenty of potential, and it has improved with just a little bit of testing, but there is still more to do.

I was able to slide it from bridge to bridge at OP, so it can be slid, and it has got the gear there to get going.

well depending on how they are set-up now lengthening the arms will position the upright more upright and give more traction. using cradle bushes you can angle the subframe for more traction (squat basically) most of the people that sell the subframe alignment bushes have a diagram that shows how to position the bushes for different results.

    • I did a skidpan night at SMSP this week, it was much cheaper than $350. But yeah, you need to slap an LSD in that thing.  I put an OS Giken in the 370Z and it's f**king MARVELOUS even compared to Nissan's viscous LSD. So you're saying it's free now that it's a housing estate? 😂
    • Nah, the car seems to run exactly as it did prior, in saying this it does "seem" to be better down low, like more eager to rev, but that may be 100% placebo effect from intake noise But, I'm not worried about it at all, in the end it is a fairly low compression NA engine that has a well shrouded intake,  if it is getting hotter IAT I cannot notice anything negative performance wise from the seat of my pants thrashing it about on the street or sitting in traffic, so meh, car now now makes induction noise so I'm happy
    • Do you have an IAT sensor? It's worth checking it to see. You may be suprised how little gap you actually need to flood your engine with hot air. (I tape up my airbox for a reason) :p
    • @KinkstaahKrinkle paint the "silver" alloy, not the red filter frame Engine bay heat won't be a issue worth worrying about as the silver alloy blocks it off on 3 sides, as for the top, the bonnet seals most of it and the big OEM CAI intake snorkel is still fitted in its original position  I will head into Clark's Rubber when I have some time to grab some pinch weld to tidy up the alloy after I paint it As for performance, I honestly wasn't expecting any, the only reason I got it is because the intake noise sounds cool to my old ears when I'm feeding it the beans Sometimes it's the silly things you do in in life that gives the most fun, and I do love anything that makes cool car noises In other news: I survived 4 nights at sea with Jackie not throwing me over board, holidays are continuing now as we are currently chilling at the Beachcomber in Toukley, after taking the coast roads from Sydney in the MX5, top down all the way, Toukley is where I spent a good deal of my youth holidaying during the summer months, there's lots of reminiscing going on,  and lots of beaches and old houses to visit Next on the list is to head to Batemans Bay for a few days, but we will take the Commodore out to stretch its legs, then Commodore hasn't really moved for months
    • There’s probably people who’d like to do it and then when it comes to putting their hands in their pockets they’ll all disappear into the shadows
