I'm talking about the motor Chi is posting about.

What are you talking about?

I was referring to your comment about people "trolling" the thread.

Last time i looked, you didnt have a mod/admin tag, so leave our job, to us.

I would say that the two reasons above are very likely.

I'm sure that for anyone who have been to the wreckers before asking for a part would have seen it.

e.g. do you have an rb25 compressor elbow? yeah, i'll have to take it off a car, one moment....

Poor guy buying the motor will be missing all the little niggly bits

I posted to clear something up about the motor people are speculating about.

Chi posted a question and only a few have tried to answer it, the rest are trolling. I can use that word can't I???

If moderating was done fairly on this forum, there wouldn't be a need for you to comment.

Seems being a mod round here gives instant 'double standards'.

I still don't understand. are you telling us that you installed a new engine into your car, and didn't even check or change the oil? and then left it for 2 months? What is the wrecker had drained the oil before you fitted it? or what if that engine has been sitting around with the same oil in it for 2 years?

My advice is forget wondering about why someone blocked up the dipstick hole. it's completely irrelevant. Get a dipstick tube, and a dipstick, put it in, then for gods sake change the oil!

hey guys and girl as i have installed my turbo engine maybe 2 months ago and found i have no dip stick but instead it is blocked off i was wondering why people would do this ?

just wondering why do it ?

I'm wondering why someone would install an engine in a car without a dipstick and without fresh oil . If i was to replace an engine , I would replace oil and coolant at the same time as well as check everything before I put the engine in.

I've seen this car also, it looks like a factory fitted plug and about the only way to remove it would be to try drill and tap it and pull it out or remove sump and punch it out,Spose who ever fitted the engine didnt see it till to late(Home job i think)Car is an NA with Turbo motor fitted.

OK guys.

this was MY engine, it was in my 33 for all of about 3000km after it was built.

i had about 3 batches of oil in the engine just to run it in, and it blew the turbo and was leaking a bit of oil, so i replaced it to make sure it had 5 litres in it.

i was about to have a dipstick installed in it, as i had to change the blown turbo anyway, but the car got rear ended and written off instead.

when i sold the engine to Chi, i told him about it missing a dipstick, and about it having a blown turbo on it, and he had some 'mechanic' install the engine without the dipstick, and with the blown turbo still on it (i supplied a newer turbo with the engine).

his apparent 'mechanic' had to ask about the dipstick, and a few other bits and pieces which makes me wonder what sort of mechanic he actually was.

the engine also had less than 3% leakage on all 6 cylinders, proving just how fresh the engine is. (it was rebuilt by Ray Ferrari in Perth)

then why did you get a new built motor and never check the oil level on it? That is the most crucial time to ensure you have enough oil (and just as bad too much).

I'll all sounds a bit bodge to me.

...but im sure people are able to change their oil without a dipstick in place. Perhaps the oil was dropped without checking after a determined amount of time. By seeing how much oil came out during the change they wouldve been able to decipher whether the thing was using oil or not. Not a smart way of doing things but a solution none the less.

I understand there was a lack of dipstick so it was shut off. Now what you have to do is put a dipstick in it and ask why your mechanic didnt put one in. Hes the one to ask, not us.

:)

alright mitchy its ok that u can confirm that 165 all through 6 cylinders im not so worreid about the blown ring issues i was not aware that u told me about the dip stick sorry to say or maybe i just misheard or something im not here to bitch but now i've found the answer so my question is how did U check the oil ? when i check the oil i have to leak it down into a container and check from there on ? im just curious just a note im not here to bad mouth u mitchy and kylie i just want to know some facts because im about to put a dip stick in there but just need to know what compression u guuys got so yeah i hope that makes sense? i did put new oil and coolant in...the only reason it was leaking when i first got it is i think mitchy took turbo off but not put 2 copper washers to seal the line ? or something cause me and [Michael] ended up putting the other turbo on mmm and when my mechanic realised that there was no dip stick the motor was already in and bolted up so yea :) but now i've got my answer i wanted then its all good thanks mitchy and kylie sorry if there was any misunderstanding i just want u guys to know that im jsut curious and not trying cause crap and bd name u guys

Cheers

Chi

mitchy put down the crack pipe already

the 'mechanic' was never told of the dipstick, if chi never told him im lead to beleive that you didn't tell him either, when fitting a motor the last thing youd think for is "oh i better check to make sure the dipstick is there"

the 'mechanic' checked the turbo on the motor and found it was fine and no need to replace it, again he wasnt told there wasn't goin to be a gasket fitted or bango washers...

stop blaming him when ALL of the issues chi has had were from a faulty peice of equitment SUPPLIED by chi for him to fit. its easy to blame some one else when they cant jump on a forum and back themselfs up....
