How do you unplug ths exhaust temperature sensor? Is it under the carpet in the cabin. The sensor bolt has rounded so either I cut the cable or remove it from the plug.

Can you buy a replacement from Nissan? With my new cat there's a threaded hole for the sensor, how do I go about covering this hole up if I don't replace the sensor?

which car had a factory zorst temp sensor? r34 vspec maybe?.

Anyway...the bolt where the sensor goes into the exhaust is what you need to undo, it will have a hollow centre that the sensor goes through. If you have to cut it off you will need to replace the sensor which will be expensive if its from nissan.

If you want to run without a sensor you just need to close the hole with a bolt, thread may be difficult to match though (last one i looked for was a 17x1.25 or something wierd like that.)

It's on an R32 GTS-T. It's the sensor that goes into the cat, i thought all Skylines had this to light up the dash light if the exhaust temperature gets too high. Anyway I decided to cut the wire and just went down to Bunnings Warehouse with my new cat and matched up the thread to an M12X1.25 bolt. I couldn't undo the temperature sensor of the old cat because it's rounded.

As far as I know the sensor is for cat overtemp. Just activates a light on the dash and you are meant to ease off before it goes kuput.

If you don't want the sensor (don't know why you want to remove it unless you have a new cat with no hole for it) just unscrew it from the cat.

Take the LHS front seat out and pull the sensor through the grommet and just leave it under the carpet or you can unplug it from the loom you will find behind the front seat bulkhead. You may need to fit a new grommet as it is a pita the get through.

I want the sensor. However it's just completely stuck onto the old cat. I even tried vice grips and that failed. Then I went to it with a chisel and a bit of a knock and it still woudn't budge. In the end I just cut the cable. Couldn't be bothered going under the seat to unplug it and remove it. I checked the price at Nissan and it is very expensive for a replacement. Anyone have a second hand one for sale?
