Haha, why thanks Chris! :P Seems the little 32 has become my "beast" if you know what I mean, we all have an attachment to it now we've been through a bit together.

They creep up on you the silly things. In 5 weeks time i will have had my car for 10years! 8 years ago i would have told you i would have had a 94 LT1 Vette by now...oh well. :D

kinda offtopic-ish...!

but..

I told the mrs Im going here when we are in Dubai for our honeymoon :D

most likely will do the audi track tester

Unless Chris (tacker) has an event on and can take me for a lap or 5!

I just got back from Dubai and i was blown away how cool a place it is. Really nice resorts its not too crazy a price and there are cool cars galore.

There is certainly plenty for the Mrs to do to keep herself busy whilst you go do what you have to do at the race track :D

yeah, it will see Lakeside mostly, which is a driver's track, not a horsepower track. I reckon 61's for 5k is achievable. Can't be crazy loud, gotta stay under 95db :)

I didn't think 950 was overtly heavy..... what do you think we should be able to get it to? Have you built one of these pusserz?

I'm guessing this thing must be getting full slicks rather than semis? in that case I think its achieveable. On semis I think you'll need to get at least 160bhp at the wheels to have a realistic chance of 61s in that thing. What sort of power can you get from the supercharger? Or does that 5K budget stretch to a turbo conversion??? do these jiggers have a slippery in them?

Are we running a book on its stock (?) lap times on the 22nd?

I'll be back out there on the 22nd as well. Haven't had a steer for over 3 months! started work on my heap last night fixing the broken intercooler mounts... still have to swap springs around, fit & setup rear radius arms, fit the sump finally, and a few other things. Might even get its first australian wheel alignment! look out!

Well car has made 285rwkw's @ 20psi with a boost leak (injectors not sealing with plenum... farking plenum!), with 11.4 AFR's and only one cam timing change which is very promising... but now water is mixing with oil and we don't know why. I managed 1 lap of Sandown before I had to come in due to some oil spray on the manifold, and checked the dipstick to see a milky surprise.

Head gasket as replaced last week, head was decked and ever since then it's leaked. It's coming out again... :)

G'day Harry! Yeah, the plan is to run slicks on it. It's a 20V, not a charger, and it will stay that way. We still have a couple of k up our sleeve so may slip a Microtech into it at some stage. No LSD standard, but it seems they are fairly readily available on Yahoo.

Look forward to seeing you there again, I've totally worn out my 03G's, and have now got a set of KU36's to go on, really keen to see there lap time v cost v durability compared to the Dunlops.

Mate, if you ever want a hand or a drinkin buddy while you're messing with it, I'm not far away :)

Aaaaagh... mate your due for some good luck!

cheers mate. well if you get bored over the weekend, I'll be under the house working on it! Drinking buddies are always welcome! There'll be beers in the fridge mate. Have you got my number?

Those KU36 are unbeatable for the price, and will be very intersting to see how your times compare to the 03s. Will give me an idea what my Supra would have be capable of. I'd say ~2 sec slower than D03s. But 1/3rd the price! Supra ran 1:00.79 in May on them, but the rears had probably seen better days by then. But only place it would have hurt would be out of Carousell.

NA 20v? I'd suggest a piece of string from brake pedal to left nut to keep corner speeds up? lol I keep telling a mate Rob his 240Z should run 61s at Lakeside - he was over half a second faster than the Supra at QR Sprint track with a dirty old carbied L28. So no reason a 20v can't do it I suppose.

Ahh ffs!

Why did you swap the gasket anyway?

    • Not R7R. Meant to type R&R, obviously enough.
    • Bugger "making it look stock". I put one conventional internally fused Hella relay behind each globe. I just pulled the plugs off the back of the globes and built new loom segments with male and female plug parts to match up to the original loom and the globe, and used the original power wires to each globe coming from the switch through the original loom plug to trigger the relays. Ran a big fat (also separately fused) power wire across the front of the car to feed all the relays. It's as ugly as f**k, but it is wedged down between the headlight and battery on the RHS and the airbox and headlight on the LHS, and no-one ever looks in my engine bay, and on the odd occasion that they do I simply give no f**ks for what they think. Fully reversible - not that you'd ever want to. For f**k's sake. It's a Skyline. They made million of the bloody things. We've been crashing them into roadside furniture for 30 years now. There is a negative side effect to putting relays on the headlights. The coil current is too little to properly clean the contacts in the switches and they get blacked up and you have to open them up every couple of years and clean them manually. I have 25 years of experience on this point.
    • I was poking through the R34 wiring diagrams vs R33 and noticed that the R34 has proper headlight relays while the R33 is like the R32 and sends full headlight power through the headlight switch. I'm not afraid of wiring but I really would like to do this in a way that looks OEM (clipping into open positions on the OEM relay box) and also unlike the factory wiring which interlocks the high beam and low beam on the halogen series 1 GTR headlights I want to make it such that turning on the high beams keeps the low beams on as well. Any advice on how to locate the specific connectors + crimp terminals + relays I need? I was thinking one NO relay for low beams and another for combined high + low running off the factory high beam headlight connector. I don't really want to splice into a crusty old probably discontinued factory harness so fully reversible is my goal here.
    • Pretty sure they run the same engine as the Q50 hybrid which specifies 95 RON.  I ran 98 in mine for a while, but it made no difference in performance or economy, so I have been using 95 for the last few years.  I have never hit 6.0L/100km, but have returned mid to high 6 on the highway.  Being a hybrid, fuel economy is a lot more dependant on how you drive it.  At 110km/h, mine never goes into EV mode on the highway, so returns closer to 7.5L/100. urban driving can return low 8s if you are careful or over 10 if you are a bit more enthusiastic on the throttle.
    • About a quarter of what you want to do. It's only R7R, not R&dismantle&replaceparts&reassemble&R. ? It is stock. I already told you, you will NOT have broken those. It's f**king 4th gear for Christ's sake. You just chipped the teeth off.
