car looks hawt roy... i think with the addition of the r34 wheels you'll have to lose the wang..., it looks great, but its too much 34 in my opinion, and the wheels tromp the wing..

or get a r324 kit and be done with it

wheels look porn mate, especially with the new paint great fitment. have you got spacers on them??

The wheels are only temp (ie borrowed) until i get some more cash to buy tyres for my TE37s (17") I suspect the car will look better with the 34 wheels though being 18s vs the 17" TE37s. WIll have to hunt down some R34 GTR wheels later in the year

Hey Dane....looking good....I'll have your turbo and dump to you soon. I'll be keen to see how it all turns out ...especially on your 2.2.

Hey Ian, sounds good mate. I'm looking forward to it :)

Did you get a chance to start doing any testing as yet?

are you sure 76mm of gate will be enough lol, very nice Dane, will be even better once you have somethng to bolt it too....

hope you get it running soon, you deserve it.

I was going to get 88mm but thought 76 may just do the trick

Thanks for the kind words Stu, I'm hoping it's all up and running ASAP. Which reminds me to call the shop right now and find out what's going on...

Troy: Car looks porn mate, and I dig the 34 wing

Nice choice on the black Ganadors too.

fair snuff... i think the r32s look better with 17's.. lower and longer. but its hard to go past r34 gtr rims.

its amazing how good the standard r32 kit looks with a few neat addons like the aero catches and the ganador mirrors..

At the risk of annoyance, I'd like your thoughts guys.

The ex Brisby Weds are in need of some tlc, and I'm thinking I'll send them to Hi Octane for their fancy coating process to try and alleviate the amount of tar, rubber, and stones that build up on the inside of the wheels. Apparently nothing sticks to the coating incl brake dust?

I'm torn whether to keep them white, or go to a darker colour like my 34 wheels (assuming such a colour is available?) or go straight black?

Opinions?

The car will be properly signwritten again one day, but I can mess with the old design and mix/match colours as it suits.

The sticker design;

I still don't have my extrude honed exhaust housing yet...Lol. I think your car will be up and running before mine.

They're taking their time!

Just let me know all your details and when you'd like me to shoot you the money I owe you whenever you're ready to go mate

Ben: I vote for black rims, but with a white stripe around the outside. Black hides the dust even if it does stick to the rims, and looks more presentable more of the time.

The housing was finished a while back but the US courier service sent it to Washington ....because it has the it has the same abreviation as for Western Australia i.e. "WA". The guy "helping" me has recovered the housing and its now supposedly on its way to WA in Australia ...lol. No wonder the US is in a shambles...haha.

1000 x votes for white. They are harder to keep clean but a friend has black TC05s on his Sileight and they no longer look anywhere as cool as when they were white! His car still looks cool but white on white is sooo much cleaner.

I loved white wheels on my car. And they look ever racier on a black car. I think if you go black on black it will still look good, but white kist makes it look like a race car! Expecially with its war paint on , it wont contrast as well with black wheels. I think much the same reason why my car can never run silver wheels as you need some contrast in there if they are to look their best

and ...

Autosalon this year?

If the mechanicals get sorted in the next 4-6 weeks she is going into a container and she is doing Spa, Rockingham Raceway and Da Burger Ring :) But needs the 6boost mani and RB25 box in before i go all that way with her

but it's too pretty to put on a track!

Maybe i'm weird, but i wouldn't want to put a car that looked that clean on a race track. I tend to unintentionally ugly my cars up these days....

Out of interest, whats shipping worth?

Haha, never mind the 'Australian' part of the delivery address

It depends if i want sole use or shared container etc. I am hoping that the Aussie dollar continues to do well . All up excluding insurance its going to be a little under 4k (if the exchange rate holds up). Temp rego is pretty easy to get in UK. Insurance scares me.

The days i wil be doing are just fun days and having a punt. I am a little concerened about taking it to do Duttons, and sprint days ... way too much gravel rash and bar/bonnet chips... well at least until she road grimes up a little and i forget the sting from all the costs the past few months :D It used to be a clean track car but after the fire at Winton, kiss of tyres at Sandown it always sucked that it wasnt the neat and tidy car it was back in 2004 when i moved to Vic. But provided i keep her straight then she will be good to go for the next 10 years now :(

hay boys, i kept this pretty quite but ive sold the rb25 and ive purchased a rb30/26 custom built engine from mercury motorsport.......

the engine is 3068cc

custom crank girdle to hold it together at 8500rpm

crome olly main caps

ported and polish head

tomie oil

just to name a few

then a par gear set and excedy clutch

engine goes in the car in 2 weeks, i may keep u up dated on how she goes :D

Roy: Very nice mate. all the talk of the r34 wing i was thinking GTT. a 32 down this way had a GTT wing. i looks the goods.

TE's will be hot regardless so long as there is some taper. i think the sagged (dare i say it) Drift style 17" and 18" would look good to blend the height of the wing. 17s at the front make it look low and stretched and the 18s at the back complement the wing.

R34 GTR rims look way bigger than 18s. Woolsters pics going between them and the weds look like a huge difference.

Woolster: If it was me id be straight on the Gloss black with a Red (or other colour) stripe around the edge. a mate of mine had an all black street r32 with black rims dark tint and a red lip around the wheels and for a street look it was menacing.

if you had asked a few weeks ago i would have said Bronze straight up as have been in love with bronze wheels for the past 12 months. Bronze TE37s and Bronze CST hyper zeroes are the G O.

But if you want your car to stand out as a race car both on the track and in Targa ect. than the white is def the way to go. Black cars hide enough on the track and white or another light colour is needed to bring them out of tarmac. Fluro or bright GReens oranges are the go at the moment as well. maybe going off your last year sign writing some red rims may give it a real purpose race car approach.

I did just lol a bit reading that areo catches are now a fashion accessory. they look porn yes but i can see stick on ones coming to an autobarn near you.

Update for my ITB rb25 is it had its first bit of tuning so the engine can be run in. Response is defiantly the word. isnt that right SavMan

    • Hey @Butters, did you end up getting this clutch in ? I have just ordered to a uniclutch track to go in my getrag 6 speed that’s in my BNR 32
    • I know you don't want to hear this comment, but I can't not say it.  I just can't see 200kw being worth the time and effort. Its like guys with NA cars, putting in headers/exhaust/tune for a massive 20% jump in power. Great, the slow car is still slow and you're down $10,000.  My vote is leave it NA or price in a gearbox upgrade and shoot for at least 300KW, preferably 350KW+.  Now you have a NC that will try to kill you from time to time and will be exciting to drive
    • Ah yep. The main message I want to pass on is, try not to get scared of ghosts when thinking about knock/knock detection.  What I mean is, healthy engines make noise. Knock is also noise. Your knock sensor and ECU combo are trying to determine bad noise from good noise based on how loud the noise is. The factory knock sensors and ECU are not good at doing this.  Modern ECU's are pretty decent at it, however I'd still say that you would want to verify that if your ECU says it's knock, that you actually listen to it and confirm that it is correct.  Are you familiar with the plex knock monitor?  https://www.plex-tuning.com/products/plex-knock-monitor-v3/ I expect you're the type of person that would be very keen to play with something like this. It is great knock detection and you can pop some headphones on and listen to what's going on.  Knock that you've deliberately induced in low load low RPM areas is not really putting anything at risk and is a great tuning/learning/verification tool.  I just thought this was worth mentioning based on the way you were talking about setting up a base map and the Haltech base map settings. There are better ways to spend your time then chasing ghosts and worrying about detonation in scenarios that it is crazy unlikely to encounter it.  I was also wondering, what ECU are you planning to get? Will it be long til you pick it up?
    • This came quicker than I thought. It ain't even 2025 yet.
    • I somehow quoted my post instead of editing it. I regret nothing.
